The season premiere is tonight. Many of us swore off watching after Jim died, :sad1: (then quietly kept watching just in case.) But, Jim's back. :yay: They didn't replace him with that other guy. So things are more or less normal there. :thumbsup2

Melinda is set to have her baby. I have a feeling this season will deal a lot with ghosts wanting her baby since he will have more powers than she does. :scared1: (Anything is preferable to when they had all those ghosts in the tunnel below. :p )

Jennifer Love Hewett said on an interview that she actually directed the premiere and her own birth of the baby.

Who else will be watching? :happytv: :scared1:

:thumbsup2

I still think the entire story line was stupid (Jim becoming the other guy), but since they didn't dump Jim, I'm still watching.

Just got done watching the Season Premiere. It was pretty awesome. I look forward to seeing what happens this season.

That certainly was an interesting twist I wasn't expecting.

I was a little worried that since JLH was going to be directing, that Jim/David Conrad was going to be pushed into the background & that Jamie Kennedy, JLH's boyfriend in real life was going to be excessively highlighted in the show instead. Glad that didn't happen.

It will be interesting to see where this show is going now. I just hope Melinda doesn't turn into a helicopter parent always worrying about her child now. :scared:

OK, I crossed over when Jim died so I stop watching. Could someone tell me what happen and why Jim isn't dead?

"Dead Jim" followed Melinda around for a couple episodes. But, Melinda said she'd have nothing to do with "Dead Jim" and kept telling him he needed to go into the light. He realised she was serious, and that the only way he could really be with her again was as a living human.

They just happened to witness a traffic accident. The guy who died (Sam) went into the light (never looking back,) and Jim immediately jumped into his body after he left. :teleport: When the body "woke up," it was Jim, but he had no memory of being Jim. He couldn't really remember being the other guy either.

Several of us here swore up & down very loudly that we wouldn't watch anymore if they replaced Jim with this other guy. :badpc: That it was just as bad as Jim being dead. Some of us were very vehement that we weren't even going to hang around and watch to see if Jim comes back :wave2: as the new guy started dating Melinda.

Umm, some of us kept watching even after saying we wouldn't. :rolleyes1 popcorn:: After several "dates" Jim finally got his memory back. :woohoo:   So we and Melinda see the "old Jim," meanwhile, the rest of the world sees her with the other guy, Sam. Every once in a while they show Sam's reflection in the mirror to remind us what he's supposed to look like. "Sam" married Melinda at last season's finale.

Only Melinda's closest friends know it's really Jim. No one else in town questions the fact that she started dating almost right after becoming a widow, or that her baby was born early (so that he had to be Jim's and not "Sam's.") :confused3 But, this is the same woman who sits in the town park and talks to people when no one is there. So maybe they are just used to her being strange. ;) :teeth:

Who, me? :rolleyes1

Ummm, yeah, that would be me (it looks like I've got some company)... :rotfl2:

Do still think it's dumb though. ::yes::

:rotfl2::lmao::rotfl::laughing: Yep, that about sums it up! ::yes::

I've got it on DVR but haven't watched it yet. Probaby will tomorrow. I'm interested in finding out what the twist was, but I don't watch the show late at night when I'm the only one up!

Thanks for catching me up!

I watched! I love Ghost Whisperer, and it's so great to have Jim fully back after last season. It's fun to see Jim and Melinda as parents, although it sure changes the dynamic of the show.

Thanks for the update. I'm not sure if I will get back on the GW train. I'm may stop in and get an update now and then. Happy GW watching!

Just got hooked on the show and I am watching all the old ones from the past. Wish I didn't read the part about Jim dieing and all. :sad2: Oh well.

Wow what a clear and understandable explanation. I have never seen an episode, but if I wanted to start watching I feel completely caught up. :thumbsup2

loved it. Was a bit shocked that it moved 5 years ahead, but it went along fine.

DH and I are big fans of the show, but we were both so disappointed with the premiere last night. I think it's jumped the shark.

I only saw the last few minutes but have to say...what is up with all these shows skipping 5 years ahead? First Desperate Housewives and now Ghost Whisperer?! Other than that, I missed the premiere and can't comment on whether it was good or not but I am a little surprised that they chose to skip ahead like that.
