Ghiardelli's Best Dessert?

Half of a Ghiradelli chocolate chip cookie served warm under a layer of vanilla ice cream, freshly homemade hot fudge and topped with whipped cream, chopped almonds and a cherry. $8.50 (directly from my Ghiradelli menu I placed in my scrapbook from last year's December trip) & here is the photo !!!!

Ohhhh everything there is SO good!! We have been about 6 times on our last two visits - loads of pictures in my reviews below! From memory our favourite ones were the mint bliss, and the butterscotch one - can't remember the actual name of it, but there was so much butterscotch sauce it was superb!!!!

Can any of these be purchased with snack credits, by chance? We'll have 56 snack credits to use up and I'm just wondering what I might be able to spend them on!

I don't think it is on the dining plan at all. We plan to use the 10% DVC member discount if it is still available in 2010. If it is not, we will still try it! The 10% discount would just be an added bonus.

The cookie-bottom sundae is my absolute favorite. So, so, so good. I always tell myself I'm going to try something new, but when I actually get there, I just can't face the thought of not having this!

Man, I'm really hungry now.

Unfortunately, no. They sundaes are about $7-8 each so a little out of snack price range. Not sure how much the ice cream alone is but I'm pretty sure they don't take any ddp entitlements there.

My fave is the PB + hot fudge sundae... yummo!

LOL, I didn't think it would be a snack credit but it sure looks like the sundaes there are totally worth a CS credit!!!

I sort of order mine like Sally (from When Harry met Sally)

A scoop of vanilla ice cream with extra hot fudge (on the side), and a chocolate dipped waffle cone (on the side). I break up little pieces of the waffle cone, scoop up some vanilla ice cream, then dunk it in the hot fudge. *sigh*.

BUT I am soooo getting that peppermint with hot fudge thing this Dec.

Our favorite isn't on the menu, but you can still order it. It's called a Foghorn Sundae. It has all chocolate ice cream, hot fudge, raspberry sauce, whipped cream, and chocolate chips. The hot fudge and tangy raspberry sauce together is divine.

I love the foghorn, too. One of the my other favorites is the Midnight Reverie sundae. It has two (2) scoops of chocolate ice cream, dark chocolate hot fudge, dark decadent chips, whipped cream, and an Intense Dark Chocolate Square. If they only had chocolate whipped cream. I love this one, but they have gotten smaller to me. Bring on the chocolate overload.

I always order their Double Scoop Strawberry Ice Cream Sundae.

Since I don't do ice cream, my favorite is to get the drinking chocolate - one of the good thing is that you can get it on the chocolate store side so no lines. It is the closest thing to the xocolate (a hot chocolate drink that is so thick that spoon just about can stand up straight in the cup) that we look forward getting when we go to Barcleona and people watch on Las Ramblas.
