We plan on our next trip being June 2014. My goal is a lagoon view studio at GF for me, DH and our 16 year old son. We have SSR as our home but I like to try all the resorts.
We usually do a 1 BR but are trying to save up points for a spring break 2015 trip too.
I know it's all speculation, but any thoughts on availability? I was able to book BLT at 7 months out when it was fairly new. In fact that is my second choice since this is my first trip since April of 2012 and I want to spend good time in MK. BWV is my third choice.

I'm trying for May 17 next week, I'll let you know.

We just bought there on Thursday & booked our May trip immediately as they said the rooms are going fast! I would try right at the 7 month mark.

I would expect that a standard view would be more likely and a 1 bedroom more likely as well but it just depends on what the owners want and how fast they are truly selling.

So far for 2014, studios at VGF have been usually open at 7 months out but sometimes not and those sometimes not are not explainable as being holiday times; it is just random. Moreover, there has not yet been any pattern as to whether it is lake view or standard or both that may be gone at 7 months out.

Your chances for June are much better than other times of the year. So you might get it. DVC peak booking times are not during the summer.

Thanks for the feedback! 7 months out will be on a Sunday in November so I will be doing that as soon as possible.

We own at SSR as well and were able to book 7 months for March 29th for seven days.We chose a lake view although both were available.

My thought was to better try now, as there would be a greater chance of availability than in a year or so. Also we wanted to do dining with TIW, and the studio and location let us do that with more of the monorail loop restaurants.

I am not a VGF owner and was able to book a studio at 7 months for spring break next April.

I have been watching for a month now, I would like a two bedroom lock-off for a thu and fri night in mid June. Never saw one yet (granted looking the couple of months before my 7 month window opens). Dedicated, no problem normally for either view, but we need space top for 10. Less than a month out from our 7 months...I will cancel our OKW GV HH for the Thu the night before our window opens so I don't have to call MS, nervous about the points going back into my account cause they are borrowed and want to make sure I reuse those first for this booking.
When all is said and done we have 4 nights at BCV in a dedicated two bed, 2 bedroom; 8 nights at OKW in a HH GV, and the last two nights at VGF. 14 night family trip..and I know, even though this is the longest trip ever, it still won't be enough time! :goodvibes

Got a lake view studio for May 17 to 23! Jumped on right at 11:00am when the system reopened. I used the same strategy as I use for VGC, start with Saturday arrival. Waiting to hear the dates for Star Wars Weekends, we are going to tack some nights on at a regular resort depending on which weekend it starts and possibly dropping some VGF nights.

You'll probably be able to if you do it early the first day your window opens. We are VGF owners and I booked my 5/18-5/23 studio just yesterday (5/17) and the website was showing me that every category of room was available every night of my stay. Good luck!

Goody for you guys. I was up early yesterday morning to make my reservation but as you know the system was down until late in the morning. My responsibilities at work prevented me from jumping on it when the system opened up again, so now we are on the waiting list because a standard view studio was not available on 5/17.

We will be there May 16th to 23rd!

Is Saturday arrival a big thing? We usually book Tuesday-Tuesday or Thursday-Thursday weeks because flights are way cheaper.

Today was our 7 month mark and I was able to book a studio standard view for 5 nights and could have added a couple more nights at the end if needed. I am a little shellshocked that it is costing more than double the points of my originally booked AKV value studio. BUT, I figure the first year might be the easiest time to get a reservation.

From my experience, there are a lot of check-ins on Sunday. I almost always check in Saturday and have had good luck getting reservations.
