Although I do own at VGF, I have not yet had an opportunity to stay in the new studios. There are a number of members here who have posted their experiences. In general, the new studios do appear to have a good number of square feet And are well appointed.. They certainly would be “new“ if you are looking for room decor and upkeep. However, if you are looking for absolute room size, I do believe that the Polynesian studios would have larger rooms overall. For two adults, this may be less critical as you compare the two options, and location as well as season of the year may be a larger consideration.
Both resorts are currently affected by construction. For VGF, this currently is construction involved in refreshing the buildings outside of the main building. However, as the current construction progresses there is some speculation that this will eventually involve the main building and the lobby. For Polynesian, this has affected the existing structures to a much lesser degree relative to the construction of a new tower. The remainder of the property is relatively unaffected at present. Many have posted their experiences with construction noise at VGF and that this will be a moving target over the upcoming months.
VGF at Christmas is lovely.
I also think that it may be helpful to consider some of the pictures that members here have posted regarding their VGF rooms and views. Right now, there is not really a lot of data nor a lot to be read relative to room views. To my knowledge the largest repository of room views is Touring Plans. Likely one would have to consult the historic picture database to understand current views.
