On our 1 family (DH, DW, DD-3 DD-6) trip to WDW (in May 2006), we stayed at the Poly. Loved the tropical feel and felt like we were somewhat "away" (reminded us of our trips to Hawaii, Caribbean, etc.) and loved that we could walk to TTC for Epcot monorail. Plus first stop from the boat launch to the MK. We did go to GF a few times (2 meals at 1900 plus kids got hair done), and it was nice, but felt cold and too fancy/uptight and just not our cup of tea.
Well now it is 2012 and friends of ours booked a stay for late August doing Main Building RPC. Kids have been bugging to go to WDW again. So we decided to join them and booked SL CL; wife and I didn't want to stay in the Main Building (seems too busy for us).
So between the beach construction, potential monorail constrcution delays,
transportation to Epcot seemlingly not as convenient, not having a warm fuzzy towards the GF, and knowing it will be hot/humid/showery, I'm not looking forward to the trip.
We had an awesome time in 2006,and I know once we get there these issues will probably/hopefully be minimal/meaningless, and we should have a great time (it is WDW after all), but for the next 2 months I just see myself focusing on these issues.
So GF lovers (and any therapists out there), please sell me on the postive aspects of the GF so I can get these thoughts out my head!!!!

. ( Not from GF thought, we brought it from home). I still say that if there is ever a place that you have to be sick at, you are lucky if its at GF SL CL. They went above & beyond the call of duty to make us feel better. From delivering some chicken broth to our room (free of charge) to allowing us 2 extra hours the morning of our check out!
