Last fall we did our first on property stay at the Poly. This year we wanted to stay somewhere different, so we are staying at the GF. I know absolutely NOTHING about the GF, other than it was the next monorail stop when we left the Poly. We have 2 kids in wheelchairs and would really like to minimize the walk of talking them to the monorail or the parking lot to load in the van.

Any advice on what part of the resort would be best? Are there multiple buildings like there were at the Poly? Any advice would be appreciated. Ya'lls tips and advice made our trip last year, so I'm counting on it again!!!

Thanks!!

The rooms @ GF are all a fairly short walk. I'm sure if you ask, they will accommodate you as close as possible.
It's a great place. Much different IMO than the other deluxe resorts. Some have described it as "stuffy" on these boards, but I don't get that impression at all.
I just wish I could afford to stay there more often.:lmao: :thumbsup2

Have fun!

The walkway between the buildings is flat and wide and seemed easy to take with our stroller. Last time we stayed in the Boca Chica building -- just across from the main building, on the first floor. It was a very short walk to get there, and we didn't even need the elevator. Even on the 1st floor there we had a private balcony and a view of the castle, the fireworks, and the Electrical Water Pageant on the lake.

The buildings at the GF are mostly around a central courtyard, so they are all fairly close. There are rooms in the main building, but they are all club - level. The newer pool has a zero-entry sloping side to it.

We loved our stays there. The staff really tries to make you feel welcome. I am sure if you requested it, they would put you as close to where you want to be as possible.

There is a beautiful, see-through elevator that goes between the 1st floor of the lobby and the 2nd floor where the monorail is. IMO, it is easier to navigate the GF with wheelchairs than the Poly.

Good luck!

I love the GF and agree with Cindy come on over and check out the GF FAQ thread. We have tons of pics and tips. We have alot of people that go there and have first hand knowledge of the resort.

if you can afford to stay in the main building you would be very close to the monorail and bus stop. This resort is GREAT my favorite. good luck!
