GF for 1 Night or Just Add it to OKW Stay?

Just looking for opinions here..... Dh and I booked a DVC stay at OKW (studio) for next month. Last month, we added a night onto the beginning of the vacation so we could see Spectro & the fireworks. We decided to stay at the GF (never have) so we could be on the monorail -- it would make it easier to shoot over to the MK for dinner & Spectro on Saturday night, and then we have an 8 a.m. PS at Crystal Palace Sunday. Got a Lodge Tower room for the AP rate of $350 (it was either that or concierge).

Then, this past week, we added on add'l DVC points. We now have enough available in our 2001 use year to switch that first night to an OKW studio, which would mean not having to move at all during our vacation, and would save us $350.

Looking at it typed out, it seems like a no-brainer: cancel GF, save big bucks, don't go through the hassle of moving. But I admit though that we're both a little concerned about the transportation from OKW and getting to the MK by 8. And we never have stayed at the GF......

Any thoughts/opinions?

Lodge Towers rooms are great, definetly stay at the GF!!! If you need some room recommendations, send me a PM.

I would have to agree with Cali! Even for 1 night, the GF is worth it and you will not be disappointed! You can't beat the convienence of being on the monorail.

We stayed at the GF for one night last November. Although it wasn't our cup of tea, we were glad we did it since we always wanted to stay there. It's a beautiful resort. Of course, we only payed $199 for the night. I don't know if I'd spend $350 for it.

The GF is one of my favorites! Of course, I stayed there for $199. With as much money as you would save staying at OKW, that might be your best bet instead. Good luck deciding!
