I heard there is a difference between Towers and SugarLoaf concierge. Alcohol in Towers but not Sugarloaf. Is this true? And can you visit the other one if you wanted an alcoholic beverage?
Really not a lush, just curious.
Are there any other differences between the two?
Also, my ressie says lodge concierge, is this sugarloaf?
Thanks in advance-
Christine

Yes, lodge concierge means Sugar Loaf.

And actually, Sugar Loaf now offers alcohol and evening desserts. :flower:

The differences now are mainly aesthetic. In my opinion, the lodge has more of a bed & breakfast type feel to it. It's cozy, with no tv in the lounge and relaxing sofas for seating. The concierge staff has their desks located right here, so it's a more personal feel. Based on how the building is positioned, the drawback is the lack of a castle view. Room requests can be either garden or marina and there are actually a few tower rooms here that are available by request.

It was kind of a silly endeavor, but I did hand draw what the 2 lounge layouts look like. If you want to take a look at them, here you go, RPC, main building and Lodge, Sugar Loaf building .

Thanks for the replies.
Tammi thanks for the drawings. That was a nice touch!
Just dropped off son in Rockland MA. He's playing hockey there for a year. Is this close to you?

Hi Christine,

Rockland is about 35-40 minutes south of where I live. Is your son playing with the Baystate Breakers, Eastern Junior Hockey league? He'll be just south of Boston, I hope he gets a lot of sightseeing in when he's here. My daughter is almost 20, I can ask her where it's cool to hang out in town.

Yes, he is. Long story short, drafted in the 3rd round to the Omaha Lancers in the USHL. Didn't make the 25 man roster, and decided to play for this team because of the great discussions with the coach.
Anyway, yes I am sure he'd love to know some great places to hang out. He's 18 and living with a billet family.
And, I love Boston!

Ergens2, it's really a matter of personal choice. A few of the reasons that I like the main building is the ability to request a castle view room and closeness to the monorail. I also like the lounge setup better in the main building. It's larger and more spread out, with plenty of seating, 2 TV's and a more open, brighter feel. There are large windows that overlook the courtyard area and the interior balcony overlooks the main lobby. The concierge staff sits on the 3rd floor, while the lounge is located on the 4th. There is also a good sized balcony on the 3rd floor, which is seldom used by anyone. I've also spoken to a lot of DIS'ers who prefer the coziness of the lodge.

Christine, that's very cool about your son. We're an "ice" family. DH and I love hockey and my kids all figure skate. I see your DS is in the same boat as my daughter, the under 21 crowd. Her group of friends do a lot of bowling, shooting pool and shopping. I don't know if she's familiar at all with the area south of Boston. I think most places they go to are closer to our area. I'm glad you like Boston. We take the drive in daily for skating and at least once a month, we head in for some sightseeing.
