Hello All,

Cant wait for our first ever GF visit in a 1 bedroom villa standard view. I have a few questions 1) how far from the Villa bldg to the main bldg where Transportation is? 2) what are some activities for a resort day which we always like to do. 3) Is eating At GF cafe worth it? Or best to do Citricos? 4) How far is it to walk over to the Polynesian and MK?

Thanks We cant wait 60 days to go!

The villa building isn’t too far from the main building where monorail and bus access is. It’s via a covered (not enclosed) walkway which is quite nice. Be aware the access to walking path to MK and boat access to MK is not at the main building, and it is a little further away.

We enjoy the pools, hot tub, and do some shopping. Basin is always fun. There’s also photopass photographers around and we have done photoshoots with Cinderella’s slipper a few times. Grabbing a drink in the lounge is always fun too. You have a great view of fireworks from the dock by Gasparilla’s. There’ll be resort activities like a glow party in the evening, movies under the stars, etc. There’s a thread here that shows the activities by resort for each month. Feb 1 the new activities sign will be put up at the resort. Unexpectedly we also spent some time with Donald and Goofy in the DVC lobby. They came and visited twice, spending probably 20+ mins each time.

I haven’t walked to Poly from GF before. There’s others who have and shared their (timed) experiences. The walk to MK isn’t too bad, maybe 15-20 mins? Just be aware the walking path is interrupted by the electrical water pageant in the evening. I ended up hanging out for awhile waiting for the bridge to come back.

Eating at the GF cafe is nice, Citricos is very nice & costs more, if you only intend to eat at one & price doesn’t matter then I’d opt for Citricos. My favorite has always been Narcoossees, but I don’t know when they’ll reopen & what it will be like after the refurb.
The walk to the MK is maybe 15-20 minutes, it’s very pretty IMO, I enjoy seeing the birds & we even spotted a frog & an armadillo in Dec.. I took this photo as we started our stroll from the MK to the VGF one evening last month.

Like a PP we exited the villa building one morning & ran into this 😂 7E756E99-C328-4703-9768-1E557E4A497C.jpeg
The walk to the Poly was a bit more complicated - the path they have created crosses the street twice to skirt the Poly construction. We walked it after dark one night (in a quest for Dole whips) and it didn’t feel unsafe or even too far, but it was definitely not as easy as the straight shot it used to be pre construction. We actually took the boat over to the Poly a couple of times - the route is MK-GF-Poly-MK & it’s a very short hop from the GF to the Poly. The monorail is a bit longer - GF-MK-Contemporary-TTC-Poly.
When we were there last month you had to go through construction walls to get to the GF’s marina because of the refurb work being done.
I too enjoy watching the MK fireworks from in front of the QS Gasparillas unless I’ve been lucky & gotten one of the standard view villas that you can see the fireworks from & then I opt for my balcony :).
