Hi, we were there in August, and were turned away at the gate-the man said it was due to construction vehicles taking up much of the parking. We're going in March, staying at Saratoga Springs, but would love to go over to Geyeser Point for lunch or dinner-does anyone know if they are still turning people away if you don't have a reservation? I wish they did take reservations, just so we could get in-
Thank you

I think the office rule is that guests are only permitted to park for certain/select activities, which usually means dining reservations. However, the rule is a bit vague, so how it’s enforced is open to interpretation. The other part is that they’re far stricter with the hotels around Bay Lake, as people try to game the system to get to Magic Kingdom.

I would default to not being let in without a dining reservation.

It's very much up to whatever security guard happens to be there at the time. You can't count on being let in.
This is it in a nutshell. We were staying at FW in early November and drove over to WL around lunchtime, and we were let in. We were prepared not to be. We also wanted to go to Geyser Point, which we did and had a nice lunch (except for the bee that landed on me - bees scare me). I think time of year, time of day, and which guard you get all play into it on an everyday basis and when you added in the construction they were doing, I can see why you were turned away. With March being prime Spring Break time, it would probably be simpler to go over to Disney Springs and catch a WL bus than to try to park at WL.

Besides taking a Disney bus, Minnie Vans are an option. They’re allowed to take guests into any resort, even without an ADR.

Entry is at the discretion of the Cast Members up front. They let you in or they don’t. All for security reasons. Your safest bet is to take Disney bus service from Disney Springs to Wilderness.

I also think the lunch hour might be an easier time to access the restaurant. We’ve eaten at GP several times - usually as guests at WL - and lunch has always been much quieter. Of course all bets are off during particularly busy times. I agree that using WDW transport would also be a safer bet. Good luck.
