I'm trying to find a good spot to eat lunch at on our Magic Kingdom day. We will be traveling with a group of about 15 and someone suggested Geyser point. The plan would be to leave MK around 12 and take the boat over to WL. After lunch probably go back to our resort CBR or go back to the park.

My two questions are

1. Would we have trouble finding seats for that many people?
2. Is the food worth the hassle or just go straight to CBR to have lunch?

We love Geyser Point but have experienced waits even with 4 people. Now that has primarily been at night vs. lunch so you may have better luck but I'm not sure I would chance it nor is it worth it. We did have success getting a table for like 20 once, but we weren't eating and just using the area to mill about and enjoy a few drinks.

If you want to try a table service option Whispering Canyon is a fun place for lunch that you could likely get a reservation at. Otherwise I'd just go back to CBR and eat at the pool bar (if you can get a seat there) or Spy Glass Grill which is great.

Fantastic atmosphere but have you looked at the menu? It’s fairly limited, not a ton of choices for a large group. We did a trip with a group of 11 and I wouldn’t risk dragging everyone to a place in hopes of getting in. If there’s a long wait, or have to leave and head somewhere else, you’ll have some grumpy people.

I travel with extended family often, so we usually have a large group similar to the size you’re talking about. We rarely go with that many people to a QS place as a planned ‘we all get to sit together’ meal (actually, we haven’t done that in years). Even larger QS places can be crowded, with limited seating, and just don’t make sense to visit as a large group (unless we go really really really early/late at a large resort QS dining room)...and Geyser Point isn’t that large.

I’d suggest trying to get a TS ADR, or going back to CBR knowing that people will probably sit st separate tables, or just having people do their own thing for lunch and arranging a time to meet up later.

To answer your questions: yes, you’ll have problems getting tables for a party that size. No, the food isn’t worth the headache of 15 people and not enough seating.

There are two ways to eat at Geyser Point: ordering food directly via QS and ordering from a waitperson. We always opt for the wait service just because it's a relaxing spot with little to no cost difference between the two ways of ordering.
This is one of our favorite eateries when visiting MK and easy travel back and forth via boat service.
I would think traveling with 15 people would require some sort of wait no matter where you eat near MK. and for my money the 2 TS @ WL are not worthy for one reasons or another. I've never been at Geyser at a time where every seat was filled and the last time I traveled there was a 2 week stay Christmas 2019. I do agree that going during an off time will give you more possibilities for seating.

Have fun at WDW!

To reiterate what most of the posters above have said, GP is not a group-friendly spot. It's not a huge bar/QS place with which to begin, and the chances of all you being seated at once are slim to none. Further exacerbating the situation are folks who may only have two people in their party but take a whole area since often one low, large table has four cushioned chairs around it--sometimes people don't share and the staff won't make them. We were a party of two back in December, and we couldn't get a table for the two of us without putting our name on a waiting list, and even then, we wound up sitting at the bar. Agree the food is solid but limited in scope. You'd be better off heading directly to CBR.

We enjoy Geyser Point, but the menu is quite limited. And I agree you probably won’t luck out with a group that large. We invariably sit at the bar.

That sounds like a lot of people to sit together. If you go during lunch so most people will be in the parks you may have a chance of all sitting. The location really only has small 4-6 person tables.
