My husband and I will be celebrating our 5th wedding anniversary on the Wonder. I want to get my hair done on the ship and was wondering, how good are they? I want my hair up with curls on the top. Something that would look nice with a gown. Has anyone out there had their hair done on the ship and have been pleased with it? Any suggestions???? I am assuming they have a hair salon on the ship. Is it easy to get appointments? Any info would be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks!

I got my hair washed, cut & styled on the ship. I really loved it when they washed it. It was basically a scalp massage, heaven! My hair felt so good when it was done. I personally would trust them to do it, but I guess everyone's experience is different.

I didn't get an updo but I did have my hair cut and styled. It was great! I'd do it again. My DH had his hair cut also (what little hair he has left anyway!;) ). I'd do it again. It was very easy getting an appointment, I had mine done on formal day afternoon.

Do try to get your appointment as soon as possible, they do get booked, especially on formal night, and who wants to protect a hair-do for hours? Take a picture of what you would like. If you want embellishments ("diamond" combs, etc.) bring them with you. Those available for purchase are very expensive.

I got an updo for formal night but the only opening they had was 6:00. They told me it should only take 1/2 hour and I could still catch the 6:30 show but I was about 15 mins. late. And as abitjaded stated DO bring your own clip. When the hairdresser so "generously" offered to put a rhinestone clip in my hair I knew it wouldn't be free but I almost passed out when I saw the charge on my bill was $40.00! My hair-do ended up costing a total of $72.00 plus tip and along with that she wanted to sell me bronzing make-up for another $40.00! Just MHO but I didn't like their selling practices at the spa/salon at all and next time I will just leave my hair down or put the $40.00 clip in myself!

I had my hair done on the ship (for my wedding). Giles did a fantastic job and was also aware of the wind conditions outside at CC and really cemented my hair so it would stay. All in all, it was not that expensive, about what I would have expected to pay on land. I didn't get a hard sell for anything, maybe because it was before hours and my wedding day?

We were on DCL on NYE 2000-2001 and I had an updo for the party since it was formal. I really liked what the stylist did and I thought the price reasonable too. She did not try to sell me any extras, just did a great job and was very nice.

I also had my hair done in an updo. The price would not have been too bad, except for the hair clips. I saved mine and will be taking them next year. They should realize that their tips would be better if we hadn't just paid $40.00 for two barrettes.
I was extremely happy with the styling and hated to take it down.
You don't need to make a mad dash for the reservation desk. You can enjoy the buffet lunch and then head to the salon.:D

I had my hair cut on one day and then styled in an updo another day. I still swear that the haircut was the best I have ever had! And she was so young! It really threw me for a loop when she did the updo because I didn't realize they don't use curling irons except rarely in the UK! But it looked fantastic anyway! I was really pleased. It was a bit pricey (I come from the Midwest) and I fell in the same barrette trap as 4myguys, but although the price was unbelievable, it is a very excellent quality barrette and I expected to pay a ridiculous price because it is a spa, after all. And she was the one who told me to bring it with me again. Other than that, I wasn't hassled to buy anything extra. What people need to realize is that the employees are expected to hawk the other products in the salon, and they shouldn't get mad at them. They are just doing their job. That said, it also goes that they shouldn't be really pushy about how they approach you, either.

my daughter had her hair highlighted while on the cruise, giles did a beautiful job he also cut and styled her hair, with tip for cut, style, and highlight it was about 150 dollars but worth every penny of it, she wishes she was back on the cruise now she would have it done again ,

.................just kidding disney6.:p

I too had mine styled on semi-formal night (it was Halloween) and I was dressing as Cinderella (my DH was the Prince) They did a FANTASTIC job on my hair--but I too fell into the barette clip trap! This beautiful "do" needed a sparkling clip. So she put one in my hair, then I almost croaked to see it was almost $40!!! Oh well, lesson learned.

I also had a manicure and pedicure done--the pedicure lasted for MONTHS!
