Getting your drink on in the most magical place on earth

Just stopped at Spice Road Table for the first time! The Sangria is very good and DH had the Tangier's breeze which he said was good. We shared a sampler of lamb slider, chicken roll, and lamb sausage which were good as well!

Awesome I just watched the video review of the Spice Road and thought it looked great ! Nice grownup-ish place to grab a couple drinks and some light food.

Glad you enjoyed it. The Sangria looks potent, is it ???

It's hard to charge to say because it's my 4th drink of the day....don't judge me....I'm on vacation without my children!!

Hi!!

Isn't there a bar in Japan? Very small, outside. I thought I read they have a drink called a lime saketini - or something?

Anyone try it? :banana::banana:

I'm bumping my own post! :hyper:

So no one has been? I think I read it's near the department store, but just like a counter or something.

Well, fear not, I will find this bar. And I will drink the sake. And I will report back...if this thread is still here in October. :rotfl:

The stand that has the Kaki Gori (shaved ice) has beer for sale. At the back of the department store, there is a Sake Bar. I've never seen a stand alone bar in the Japan area.

I think that's what I was trying to describe. :) So it's in the store, not outside?

edited to add:
I just googled. :) It's outdoors located at the steps to Katsura Grill. Must be different than the department store one, seems like it's new?

I really want to try that lime sake cocktail thing.

I can picture what you're talking about but I don't know what it's called. I do remember them having beer, wine and saki, as well as a couple mixed drinks.

I'm sitting here on a Saturday afternoon with a glass of wine writing my trip plans in my notebook.

Am I planning fast passes, early entry, shows, parades you ask?
Why no, my trip planning notebook is being filled up with every drink I would like to try at each park. :rotfl:

Seriously, I made a section for EPCOT, AK, Studios and Resorts.

Thanks my to internet drinking buddies for suggestions and links, I'm toasting you right now! (really) :drinking1

Back to work....

WE LOVE LA CAVA!!!!! Counting down...6 weeks from today!!

I had the jalapeno margarita last trip. It was fabulous. Just a hint of spice to it, and not overly sweet.

I want to try the sangria at Spice Road table. Last trip, it was just my oldest and youngest kids (10 and 1) and me. We sat outside and it was cold (about 50). The manager couldn't believe anyone was sitting out there and came out to investigate. He was very nice. I just had a glass of white wine. My oldest daughter and I shared the sampler jimandami mentioned. We loved the slider (needed a bit more tzatziki, I thought), and the chicken wrap was fabulous. I also recommend the calimari if you like calimari. Pretty perfectly cooked.

I'll have to read through this for other recommendations. I'm not a big beer drinker. I did like the margarita at the Dawa Bar at AK.

Coming in here just to say the Pomegranate Margarita I had at La Cava is the best margarita I've ever had! Such a relaxing atmosphere in there, too. I won't be drinking much on my next trip but will have to make an exception for one of these.

DH and I are definitely looking forward to some good drinks while we are in Disney in May. It is our 20th anniversary, so we are totally celebrating.

And our kids are older, so we don't have to worry about little ones. Our oldest DD is 18, and a tad bummed she can't join us in a few drinks. Drinking age here in Ontario is 19, so we've allowed her to drink at home or at family functions once in a while. But as she's not even close to the Florida age, no go sweetheart! Lol

SO I have a couple things to add...but first a short story...

while waiting for our Maelstrom FP one day back in 2012, mt BFF and I went to La Cava, well a couple (3 each - yes we blew our spending money on booze lol) shots later we decided it was lunch time so of to La Cantina for lunch and a Margarita. Well BFF couldn't finish her's so I do...then hit up Maelstrom. Let me tell you, SCARIEST ride ever, going backwards after all that tequila...absolutely terrifying :lmao:

Anyway

A) Why did I not find this thread sooner?
B) This is my new favourite thread (looked for any signs of negativity or pessimism and there was none!!!) :thumbsup2
C) Apparently it's true...beer can bring enemies together
D) Anyone in Epcot Sept 29th...you'll find us in MExico with our beloved tequila, stop by for a drink :thumbsup2

Noted: do not ride Maelstrom after multiple tequila shots. Haha!!!

Apparently La Cava has the infamous avocado margarita that is a MUST try. You'll find me there the last week of July!

Found this thread when I was searching the DIS for garden grocer and alcohol.

Bumping because I agree -- best thread! :thumbsup2 I'm looking forward to getting my drink on when we visit WDW for the first time this fall.

I love this thread! Can't wait to drink around the world in December! And I had no idea you could walk around Epcot and through the shops with your drinks. Reminds me of Key West :). Super pumped!

Or like Vegas but much cleaner and kid friendly.
