I don't get it and I'm getting so frustrated!! I've been doing really well with diet and exercise for 3 weeks. I know that's a very small amount of time, but I expected to see just a little something by now. Actually I have seen "something", but not what I want. I've gained a pound. It could be muscle, but then why don't I feel any different in my tight clothes?

Before I started the diet, I tracked calories on my regular eating habits for several days. My average was between 2400-2800 cals per day. For 3 weeks now I've been averaging 1600-1900 per day and only 20-25% of those from fat. I've also been walking 3-4 times per week for at least 30 minutes each time (whereas prior to this, I didn't exercise at all).

I'm sure part of the reason is that I have insulin resistance (I am taking glucophage for it). I'm also taking fertility meds and AF came over the weekend. But this is so darn frustrating!!!

Sorry for my little whine. I'm just so sick of this stupid weight and not being able to get rid of it! :confused3

Pam - I know it's frustrating, but stick with it and you'll see results.

First thing... measure yourself. I find that even if I'm not losing pounds, the inches are still coming off. I measure myself about once a month now and it's great to look back to the beginning and see how many inches I have lost so far.

Keep watching your calorie intake. I think they say about 1200 for women, but you might want double check that.

Hang in there and you'll see some results soon.

Hi Teresa,

My clothes don't feel any different, so I don't think I'm losing anything that way. But I haven't measured myself yet so I probably should, just to see if I see anything over time. I'll double-check what calories should be. I had just figured that since I was already reducing cals by 500-1000 per day, plus adding the exercise (that had been non-existant before), that I'd start to see something by now. I'll just keep doing what I've been doing and look into cal requirements.

Thanks for responding!

Last summer to get ready for my December WDW trip, I started a diet. I thought with all the weight I needed to lose, in the beginning it would come off quickly. It didn't!!! Could it be because I am getting older? I don't know but I was shocked and discouraged!!! I was not cheating, I wouldn't lie to myself...that is what was freaking me out...how can I be dieting (and dieting correctly...you know...not starving myself) and talking walks and still in 3 weeks ...maybe I lost a pound...WTH!!!!!

Pam - Definitely do the measurements and check them every two to three weeks. Keep up the exercising and you WILL see a difference.

Also, write EVERYTHING down. With Weight Watchers, I keep a daily journal of everything I eat, EVERY bite I take and it will amaze you how much food you might be eating and not know it. Water is also another key to my success.

Also, start a journal here. I write in mine every day and it seems to help when I write what exercise I've done and what foods I've eaten. The encourgement you get from our WISHers is unbelievable.

Hang in there............
