We are Canadian and on the Eastern cruise, we had to get up early for customs, immigration at St. Thomas. We are now booked for a Western cruise. Are there any ports that we must be up early during this cruise?

No. :) Just the early immigration call on debarkation morning.

On the March 29 Mystery cruise, we went to Key West on Thursday instead of Sunday after being in Mexico for two days. Therefore, we had an early Immigration check on Thursday morning. (Same procedure we followed for the St. Thomas Immigration check.)

You are only required to do this if/when the ship calls at a US port following a call at a foreign port. On the regular western, the first port is Key West, so you don't have to do it.

Hi Webmastermichelle, we are from Canada too and it is going to be our first cruise on the western 08/16/03.
How different is the immigration for Canadian on debarkation day ?

I believe that the only difference is that Canadians (actually any non-US citizens) must report to Customs and Immigration on board the ship, early on debarkation morning (I think at 6:00am!). US citizens, except those who have exceeded their Customs allowance, simply give their Customs declaration slip and show their proof of citizenship to one of the officers in the terminal.

Non-US citizens must report for Customs/Immigration to one of the clubs. This is one of the factors which determines when the ship is cleared for debarkation, I think.

Senor Ferrari thank you very much for the info.
I guess i'll have to get up VERY early.....

Steff, we aren't cruising until October 04. It will be our third disney cruise.

Everyone else, thank you for the answers.

Hey Surfergirl:

I hope you enjoy your cruise. As you can see from my handle, we may be neighbours!

We were on the March 8, 2003 sailing of the Magic (Eastern itinerary) and had a blast - it was our 3rd cruise as well with Disney!

PM me if you want more info.
