Getting to the start of Wine and Dine half?

Hi all, newbie to the board here.

I'm staying at Old Key West for the weekend of Wine and Dine (because I booked it through DVC rental before anything else), which is not a host resort. I'm trying to figure out the best (read: cheapest) way to get to the start line of the race. Is a cab really my only option? Could I walk to Saratoga Springs and catch an event bus there?

When I read the event page, it sounds like if I were driving my own car, I would drive to Epcot and catch a bus there...could I get to Epcot on my own and then catch a bus to ESPN?

And on a related note, my husband is meeting me at the finish line (we're not doing the after party), so he should just take a cab over at midnight, right?

Sorry for the lame questions, I'm just trying to get details in place. I ran the WDW race in January but transportation wasn't a problem since all resorts were hosts. Thanks so much for your feedback!

From OKW, you can either walk to the Saratoga or catch a ride on the regular Disney busses to Epcot. From there ride the event bus to the WWoS.

You DH will more than likely need to hail a cab. It's no more than $10 for the ride.
