Hello!

we are flying into Orlando and staying on Disney property for 4 days and plan on using Disney ME and Disney transportation between the parks/resort .

We are checking out on a Friday however we are extending our vacation another 7 days at our timeshare so we will not be able to use magical express back to the airport to pick up the rental.

any transportation suggestions on getting to the airport to pick up a car rental?

Would lyft or Uber be able to accommodate us (4 people plus bags)?

Thanks!

Kind of a hybrid of the above:
- You could go back to MCO on DME before your timeshare and pick up a car. As mentioned, only the driver would have to go.
- You could rent a car (Alamo/National) from the Car Care Center (or Swan/Dolphin, if that's easier). If you contact them the day before, the Alamo shuttle will pick you up at any Disney resort
- Also keep in mind that even though you pick up the car on or near Disney property, you can drop it at MCO. There shouldn't be any dropoff charges.
- You might want to compare the cost of renting from MCO vs. Car Care Center. Sometimes the rates are similar, sometimes MCO is less (I guess CCC could be less too). If a big difference, you might want to do the first option above.
- Another thing to look at would be renting from MCO for the entire length of your trip, not just the timeshare part. I suspect that won't work in your case, since you'll be looking at 11 days vs. 7, but I've seen stranger things happen.

Yep. Just make sure when making your reservation to make the return location MCO

Below is the info for the CCC with the number to call for the pickup, as a PP said call the day before to arrange it. They will assign you a time to be picked up depending on which resort you are at. As an FYI the CCC is not on a Disney bus route.

There shouldn't be any dropoff charges.

But any different rental is going to be priced differently.

For my recent trip I ended up with $119 for four days with pickup and drop off at dolphin (same this time for CCC, but I was staying at Boardwalk).

Returning to mco in the same time period was over 400. Not considered a drop off fee, but it was an entirely different pricing structure for that specific rental.

For another rental it might be flip flopped. For another they might be the same.

The only absolute in car rentals is that there are no absolutes.

Run all scenarios each time you check pricing.

Agree with this all the way. Dropping off at a different location than pickup usually will cost more money so make sure you check all scenarios accordingly. If you do need to pick up at airport have whomever is going to drive the rental car take ME or Uber to MCO.

Depending how close your timeshare is to WDW you could also just rent and return at Care Care Center and then take Uber to airport when it's time to go home.

Personally I like richmo's final suggestion of just renting car at MCO when you arrive. It's nice having a car in WDW and when it's time to check-out you can just plunk your luggage in your rental and head off to your timeshare without anyone having to mess around with going to airport for rental car.

Don't forget to factor in the cost of parking at the onsite resort.

Years ago almost all rentals in Florida did not have a drop off fee when returning to a different location. You were basically doing the agencies a favor by moving cars for them from one location to another. Things have changed though you may now find drop off fees.

Exactly, some may not call it a drop off fee but the cost may be more.

Oh geez, I feel a little guilty :o... I'm DVC so I don't even think about that. I forgot they now charge to park at resorts. That certainly needs to be considered. Personally, I've become so accustomed to driving at WDW that I'd be willing to pay the parking fees to have my own wheels.

Definitely get a rental in Disney area and return to airport - don’t even sweat it!

One thing - it seems like you have some flexibility on when and where ro start your rental - price our different options - you may be surprised at how things can change (with or without a Saturday stay, avoiding a road race weekend, pick up at shades of green vs swan vs CCC vs MCO etc).

That's true, the rates can be different renting from one place and dropping in another. I've even seen it less expensive, but that's probably unusual. Really the only way to tell for sure is to put locations and dates in and see what you get. Another thing I've seen happen with the one-way rentals is some agencies (I want to say Budget, but I'm not sure) don't honor discount coupons on rentals that start and end in different places.
