Getting to Magic Kingdom 90 minutes before rope drop...

I suppose this question is two-fold:

• Does Magic Kingdom still "open" 90 minutes before rope drop and let guests wander Main Street U.S.A., the shops and the Hub?
• If so, do the Magic Kingdom resort buses begin operating around 7 a.m.? Or would an alternate mode of transportation (Minnie Van, Uber, etc.) be necessary?

In my experience buses in general operate 2 hours before park opening.

I've never done rope drop for MK (or any other park!) so I have no idea about your first question.

We did EMH on 10-6 and were held outside of the train station until the park opened. Not sure if it is different on non-EMH days.

I don't think it's ever been 90 minutes; it's about an hour, and then only with 9:00 am openings. If you have an 8 am or an EMH, they let everyone in around 7:45.

Buses start running around 6:30.

Main Street is opened to guests 60 minutes before the traditional 9AM MK opening time,
and that time generally does not "move earlier" on days MK opens before 9AM.

Just so I am clear, because this is new since we were last there, does Main Street opening mean that all the shop and the starbucks are open? Or just that you can explore the street and make your way up to the castle?

Just a warning that it can be a little crowded because everyone else has the same idea too. Not that it’s ever NOT crowded in that Starbucks... but just give yourself plenty of time.
