Getting to Galveston question...

I was wondering if you are sailing from Galveston do you take a flight into Houston and go from there to Galveston. Thanks so much.

You can fly into either Houston or Hobby airport. In (recent) past DCL transfers were only available from Houston (George Bush), not Hobby.

The Houston Intercontinental (I can't bring myself to call it Bush) Airport's code is IAH. Hobby's is HOU. Make sure you book to the correct code. If you're driving yourself, keep in mind IAH is on the far side of Houston so make sure to allow for time to get through the hell that is Houston traffic depending on what time you arrive. Hobby doesn't require you to go around or through Houston since it's south of the 610 Loop and inside Beltway 8, but it's a much-less-used airport compared to IAH. Not all airlines go to HOU. Having grown up in Houston - where I learned to drive - when I used to visit family in the Galveston area after I escaped, I tried my damnedest to fly into Hobby. Houston traffic can be miserable.
