Getting to Amway

Good Friday,

My son and I are going to an Orlando Magic game in December on our WDW vacation.

We are staying at CSR. How long of a drive to Amway Centre? Is it a safe neighbourhood? Is there any pubic transit options?

"...pubic transit..."!?! Just don't look on the seats or floors of some of the LYNX buses...

If the game is on a weekday, allow an hour or so to get to the AMWAY Center from the CSR due to typical I-4 rush hour traffic. It is located just west of I-4 and can be seen from I-4.

Safe neighborhood??? ...not really. Do not go west or south of the AMWAY Center as these areas are not the best.

For public transportation, there is only the LYNX bus system that will take you forever to get from the CSR to downtown Orlando. For info on LYNX, see the following for route and other info:

You'll be way better off if you have a rental car and stick to using I-4 and not try to get there using local streets when coming from south of the city.

GPS?!?!?! Save your $$$. Too many screwups with GPS's providing wrong info.

Just get on I-4 eastbound (going toward Daytona Beach) and head to Orlando on I-4. There are exit signs for the AMWAY Arena on I-4 once you near the city.

It looks like we'll try to get to the Christmas Day game. Would parking be an issue, or is their ample space at (or near) the location?

They have large parking lots surrounding the arena. It is easy on-off from I4. Someone else said that the area isn't the best but when I went to a game there I got off the highway into a lot left the lot and got right back on the highway ofter the game. I honestly couldn't tell you anything about the neighborhood.
