Getting to ADR early/on time

Cape May is very popular and while it does depend on how busy they are at the time, we have never waited to be seated when eating there (it's a favorite of ours that is a must do every trip). We always arrive 10-15 minutes prior to our ADR times and have always gotten seated right away.

Truthfully I would skip this one and try to secure an ADR in the WS. The meal is good but you are really stretching it timewise IMO. If you are looking at your watch you cannot really enjoy your meal

We just got back. We got to our Beaches and Cream reservation about 25 minutes early, and we were advised that we would not be seated until our reservation time. We ended up seated five minutes after that time, so we waited about 30 minutes. All of the other restaurants we went to, we were there a few minutes early or at the exact time of our ADR, and we were seated right at our ADR time. Of course, this is slower season so maybe that was why.

That's because it's Beaches and Cream, which is a teeny tiny restaurant. It's not because of some overriding policy set by Disney. B&C just doesn't have the real estate to seat people any earlier than their allotted times.

OP, glad you snagged an earlier reservation!

I have not looked at other reply's. Must say GOOD FOR YOU. This is how a finer restaurant SHOULD be treated - show up around 10-15 minutes before a reservation, check in, and be patient. Seating in a good restaurant is a black art..... my FATHER somehow did this for 40+ years. I have no idea HOW he did this.

mickeynut1 - you are showing incredible respect for a difficult job.... people don't tend to "show up" and "depart" on a specific timetable for GOOD restaurants (and you picked a GOOD one) :). They try... the staff works like HELL to make everything perfect. Sometimes? They have issues :). The mark of a GOOD restaurant is how they address those issues.

As patrons - we can "Get" all this.... a table may be late even if we show up just a bit early (which tends to give the staff just a little more time to juggle things - they like that :)). WE can accept a hard truth: it may take a good 30-45 minutes to be seated. And no one is doing this to shower dishonor on us.... it's a restaurant. It's "ishey". They WANT to do the best they can.... but people don't tend to follow hard schedules when eating :).
