Okay so here is my dilemma. I booked the only remaining ressie at O'hana which was for 9:30.The parks will be closed by the time we are finished eating and our resort is CSR. Would I have to call a taxi or would I still be able to take the monorail to MK to catch a bus back to our resort even though at that point MK would be closed:confused3 Thanks for any and all help!

Do you know what time the MK closes on the night you are going to Ohana? If the closing time is around 9:00 or so then the monorail will still be running over to the MK by the time you are done eating. If the park closes early you can take a cab or you can rely on Disney transportation.
You can take a bus from the Poly over to DTD and then get a bus to the CSR from there. Check to see if there is a late EMH park the evening you are going to be at the Poly, you can take the bus to that park from the Poly and then a bus over to the CSR.
You can also walk over to the TTC and then take the monorail over to EPCOT, and take a bus from there, since EPCOT usually closes at 9:00.
Bottom line, using Disney transportation is doable, but its going to take awhile. Taking a cab would be the fastest way to get back to the CSR.

what are the typical cab rates? I don't mind spending the extra time with WDW trans if the cab ride is gonna be 20$ or more

I would guess that the fare for going from the Poly to the CSR will run between $15 to $20.

Part of your ticker is cut off. Are you at three months and four days, or two months and four days? If it's the former, there's a chance your reservation will coincide with a MNSSHP - which means MK will be open until midnight and getting back to your resort will be a snap. If any park is having Evening Extra Magic Hours, ditto.

Otherwise, with a 9:30 start time for dinner, your best free option would be getting to Downtown Disney and transferring to your resort's bus.

I'm at 2 mos and 3 days so not sure there will be a party but at least I have the DTD option. Thanks for the help:goodvibes

While taking the bus to Downtown Disney is a good option one thing you should know is that's the one bus which takes forever to arrive at the Magic Kingdom Monorail Resorts, at least that's been my experience when waiting for them in the past. So if you don't mind the extra cost taking a taxi would be your fastest option and a Cast Member from Bell Services will call for one which always arrives within 5 minutes.

I think 'forever' might be a bit of an exaggeration - unless the PP is still waiting for a bus to Downtown Disney. I also think, although I could easily be wrong, that it's actually three buses: one from Fort Wilderness, one that stops at Wilderness Lodgge and Grand Floridian, and one shared by Contemporary and Polynesian.

One time, a long time ago, we were at the Polynesian and needed to get back to POR. We decided we would take a cab, so went over to valet to get a cab. They told us not to bother, they would take us themselves!!!! It was such a hoot...two CMs (at that time valet people were actually Disney CMs) driving us around. They got a nice tip of about $10. Everyone was happy.

I doubt that will happen now though...valet is outsourced so they really don't have the same mentality anymore.
But....check and see if there is a party that night. IF there is, just monorail back over to MK and take the bus home. But, if the park closes an hour or so before you're done eating, I would just get a cab back.
