Getting the most out of the monorail

We have an upcoming trip to the DLH (7/20-7/22) as this is our third time staying here. We love taking the monorail back to the hotel for afternoon breaks as well as at the end of the night.

With so many celebrations taking place for the 70th, I was curious what times the monorail shuts down so we can coordinate our timing accordingly? Also is it worth using the monorail for early entry if we want to start in Fantasyland on the Tuesday of our trip or are we better off going thru the main gates?

Do not waste valuable early entry or rope drop time using the monorail to get into the park. It will not run until the official start times and then you will be behind everyone using the front gates.

I don't know what time it stops in the evening but you may have trouble using it come go back to your hotel in the middle of the day for breaks since you are going in July depending on the weather. It doesn't have AC so shuts down if the outside temp gets above a certain point (can't remember the number but it might be 80) and won't open again until the weather cools off. Taking it back in the evening should work fine

This. I didnt leave till close to 730. The monorail arrived at 735. So if you are going to arrive after 730 then take the monorail. It will go to tomorrow land since areas were roped off and you had to go around. But tomorrow land was opened with no issues

If you were planning to go to tomorrowland first, it MIGHT work OK, but there are too many variables to guarantee that. You would have to be in the first group of people boarding the monorail because if you’re not, you’ll have to wait for the next monorail and they don’t even open the monorail until 730. Plus, you have to go through ticket scanning there at the monorail before you get on. If anything is delayed, you will be delayed and you may not even know that is going to happen until it’s too late.

Definitely do not take it if you’re going to FL first because it’s a pretty long walk from the back of Tomorrowland all the way to FL and everyone who rope dropped at the hub will be ahead of you.

It’s usually when it gets really hot… as in above the mid 80s hot.
