I am pretty sure I know the answer, but to confirm... When do you start to see the benefits of Castaway Gold? Is it on your 5th cruise or your 6th?

I am assuming it has to be 6 since one of them is booking events early, and the cruise doesn't count until you actually sail so logic would say that unless the laws of time and relativity have changed since I graduated (and certainly I suppose that's possible), you can't sail on the ship 105 days before the ship sails. I think. Although that time travel stuff always did confuse me. :scared:

When you add in a dash of Disney Magic, who knows. So I figured I would check! Do I get any benefits on my actual 5th? :cat:

5 completed cruises puts you at Gold status. So you will get the benefits on the 6th cruise you take.

Thanks Wilma. it is sadly what I expected.

We just pumped up the insanity. We are taking a SWDAS cruise in Jan 23rd, but decided we couldn't wait for it so booked a Dec 11 cruise as well. 2 in as many months! LOL. That will be 3 and 4. Planning on 5 maybe spring.

1 and 2 were years ago. Not sure why we just got this bug.

Yes the 6th cruise is when you will have Gold benefits. But enjoy getting to your 6th cruise! It sounds like it won't take you too long at the rate you are going. Enjoy!!
:) :) :)

After your fifth cruise when you get off the ship when they swipe your card you become gold

Jumping in, it's really neither...you get the benefits between your fifth and sixth! Think of deplaning the ship after your fifth cruise as a graduation ceremony. As soon as you walk off you are a Gold member! You now have all the benefits, which include earlier booking of excursions, and you can book your next cruise earlier than the general public.

Actually, the gold benefits onboard aren't much at all, except Disney states there might be some shopping specials and the reception. So your useful Gold benefits are really during the time before your sixth and subsequent cruises, rather than on the cruise itself.
