OK, this post is really old (from January of '09)....

Welcome!
To answer your questions:
The programs will work on Vista (at least mine does); some of us print our pages at home, others send them out to be printed as pages, others will have a company (like shutterfly, CM, snapfish) bind a book. Some print as 12x12, and others as 8x8, but I suggest you create them as 12x12 because you can change them to be smaller, but they won't look good if you enlarge them.

I would suggest starting with the sticky titled "digital scrapping FAQ" Fran did a great job on this with answers to so many questions.
Additionally feel free to ask any questions here as well. This is a great group of people; they got me started and they are still helping me!

but....what happened to the sticky? I can't seem to find it. If it doesn't exist any more, can some of you suggest programs to use. I was looking at the "Digital Scrappers Post Photos Here" thread and some of those are just awesome! (that's also the thread where the quote came from). Got me thinking about another project that would make a perfect Christmas gift.

Has anyone used Scrapbooks Gone Digital? Does it have an actual program associated with it, or is it just add-ons that you purchase to use in other programs?

I really don't know where to start.

thanks for any help!

Kathi

The old thread is gone.

Most people here now use the Creative Memories digital scrap stuff. I don't know much about it because I like traditional paper scrapping and I have a Mac so I can't use a lot of the digital software that's out there.

But I hear the Creative Memories stuff is really user friendly.
Here is a link to that thread.

I am new to the forum, but an Avid Digital Scrapper. I like to venture out on my own and Highly recommend going with Photoshop rather than memory makers. The Photoshop elements version is cheaper (around $80) and you can get it at Costco. There are tutorials all over the digital scraping market I could find for you to help you with the program. It is not hard to use and in the long run you can do much more with it than the memory makers program or some of the other scrapbooking programs out there.

I actually design for many stores and digital designers, post my layouts in galleries, and self taught on Photoshop. I too have a MAC.

Let me know and I can hook you up with links. I would be happy to help anyone get started with Digital Scrapping.:surfweb:

You can find a lot of good resources for Disney digital scrapping over at www.MouseScrappers.com. I'm one of the SBC+ users, so if you decide to go that route, I can help you out with questions!

I did decide to go w/ the PS(Elements is good enough for me at this point) software. I downloaded the free version of both PS and SBC. The free version of SBC isn't a full version, whereas the PSE was. I was able to see for sure what PSE could do. It wasn't "that" hard to do something basic, but I'm sure I'll have more questions moving forward, and may take you up on the offer of help.

Thanks for the Disney link! I've been surprised how much free content there is available for digital scrapping.
