Getting Ready for our July Trips to the World

Hey a question for you all ... those of you who run, how did you get started? And what weight were you?

I am just at 300lbs right now (today weighed in at 300.3) ... my highest weight was 324.6 back in January 2010 ... the lowest I got to was 281ish ... I have tried the c25k a few times but it was just too much ... my plan now is to try it again at 25 pounds lost, so around 275... if it is still too hard I will try again at 250 etc ... I just want to someday call myself a runner! My kids LOVE to run and of course my Army hubby has to be able to run ... someday I want to go on family runs :)

C25K is a great program, I really encourage you to try it again. :cheer2: Maybe break it up this time and don't be afraid to repeat weeks until you feel comfortable at that time/distance.

I use myfitnesspal.com, tracks not just my water or exercise but just about all nutritional information for me. It's sad when I dont have exercise to put in (like I wont for the next 2 days). Great work on the cardio and I hear you about working out on the weekends, then again I go to the gym 5 days a week so come Saturday and Sunday I just want to rest and do house work and let my legs catch up to me. Hope you have a nice night out on the town :D Enjoy your dinner!

I can see that the log will be depressing on no exercise days. It is helpful though - I can see I need to up my water intake already. Dinner out was great - I only ate half my entree and brought the other half home. The only problem was it had enormous calories anyway......Olive Garden......oops......I did not have dessert though - proud of that one!

Again I'm sorry to be MIA. I ended up gaining a 1/2 this week, not bad since I was on the road.

Everyone is doing great, just remember if you stumble to just get right back up and continue on your journey.

I highly recommend the C25K program. That is how I started. Don't be afraid to repeat weeks.

I had my re-eval at the gym yesterday and just about everything is up from the last time. After that I did upper body and this morning I went out for a run. I think I ran a littler over 2.5 miles. I did a total of 3.75, but that includes trhe warm up and cool down walks. Tomorrow I started working with the trainer. I signed up for 6 weeks for one 30 minute session per week.

I ate really well yesterday to start off the week untill the family wanted Chinese for dinner. I did stay away from the egg roll, but finished my dinner, when I normally only have half and save the rest for lunch the next day. Then last night I had a craving for ice cream so DH went to McD's to get me a sundae.

Happy Mother's Day to all!!!!!

Hi all - am new to this thread! Will be visiting WDW at the end of July. I have maintained a 25lb weight loss since December 09, but still have about 25 more to lose. So glad to have found you guys!

Well, I did stumble at Olive Garden for dinner last night - lol. I think I gained back the little I lost last week. They were very busy, and I ate more salad than I should have and when I came home and looked up the calories on the entree I really was depressed. Now, I did only eat half and saved the rest for lunch today - but that did not help much. I did not have any dessert so that was good.

My gym is closed for cleaning tomorrow. Going to do a walk today and I plan on using our home equipment tomorrow.

I am also eating light the rest of today and drinking LOTS of water.

For me, the first 25 lbs left pretty quickly when I started running (I run between 25-30 miles per week) and doing strength training. The only major differences to what I've been eating has been switching to mostly diet Cokes instead of regular. That said, I know I need to get my choices in check to lose any more weight.

I guess I should have noticed your name! That is great, I am always impressed with running. I think the the hardest thing is getting the diet in place.

:tinker: WELCOME!!!!!

Congrats on losing 25lbs and maintaining it. I think maintaining a lose is always harder than actually losing weight.

Getting enough water is important in losing weight.

You are right, getting the diet in place is always hard for me. Working out for me is easy because for the most part I enjoy it.

Hello and welcome :)

So I had a nice weekend :)

Saturday was spent at the military event ... ALL DAY! I missed a few spots with the suntan lotion so I got a bit burned ... but we had a blast. I ended up eating one hamburger, parts of my kiddos sno cones, a bag of cotton candy ... we swam a lot, saw a magic show (where we were given a $25 gift card to Applebees!), kiddos played lots of little carnival games ... they had bouncy houses too. A fun day! We were there from 10:30-3:00!!!

I was SO EXHAUSTED when we got home I ordered pizza hut ... ordered way too much and ate way too much ... pizza, chicken and dessert ...

Today was a lovely mother's day ... my kids made me breakfast (toast with jam, fruit and juice) ... then I ate leftover pizza for lunch/dinner ...

We spent a few hours outside in the backyard ... they played and I cleaned up all the ickiness from all winter. Looks good now :)

Tomorrow is back to the gym ... spin class at 845a and then weights. I am upping my weights this week so that should be good! Then my son starts swim splash week at 2pm at the other gym and my daughter has cheer at 6pm .... going to be a busy week for us, but that is good! It makes the time go faster!

Happy Mother's Day to all the mommas!!!

I have to say the pool on Saturday was very DEPRESSING! The large pool was closed due to "low chemicals" so the only pool open was the kiddie pool (not much room to run or swim in there to burn) so I sat on the edge and watched the girls play :guilty: Today I stuck to my GNC shakes for lunch but on the way home I did a HUGE no no...stoped @ McDonalds and intended to get ONLY a small snack (some yogurt or apple slices) and got a Big Mac Combo (and yes I ate the ENTIRE thing :guilty: (skipped on the soda though and had water) then I made brunch for my family and my friend and her kiddo's. Strawberry soup, shortcake pancakes, cheesy potatoes and ambrosia salad....soo out of my diet zone. Goal for tomarrow...run for 30 minutes and then lift weights for an additonal 30. Up water intake (way low this weekend) NO sugar (this one will be a toughie) and LOTS of protien! I can do this I know I can...have to get my will power back on...but for now I have to get my sleep on, it's 1am here :scared1: Happy Belated Mother's Day to everyone on here. Had PC issues today after YDD dumped water on my pc by accident...got it dried out though and aside from sound card issues it's working fine. TTYL

Happy Monday Everyone!

Almost achived my goals this morning! Ran for 20 minutes in between 4 and 6mph (until I was out of breath) and then lifted weights for about 20 more minutes. Tomarrow I'm going for te 30! I know I can do it! I reciently found out that I have to injest over 200g of protien a DAY to help burn fat but not muscle  Which means I will be eatting something I dont really like...TUNA (has 40g of protien per serving!) but on the upside it means I can eat more chicken too! I have had some sugar today but most of it was natural (apples for afternoon snack) and some not so natural (dannon light and fit yogurt) but I'm keeping it way lower then I did the other day! I got an appointment on Friday to go to the chiropractor to get adjusted (lord knows my back needs a good cracking) and hopefully de-stress some of the nerves in my spine. I also have my mom commming on Friday for DD's birthday. She's taking us to Applebee's for dinner so I have to plan accordingly soon as to what I'm going to eat. I know I want to have an adult beverage (I haven't had one in AGES) but I also know I will be getting a glass of water too. No appitizer's for me and NO bread if I wanna do that...so maybe I'll do fish? I gotta get to scrubbing down my floors here shortly and yes I'm going to see if that counts towards my exercising for the day :rotfl::rotfl:

Congrats on the work out!! You might want to check out Applebees menu on line first. They do have some weigh watcher entrees. However, be careful on the regular entrees - the calorie counts are killer! Of course, if you behave all week, then you can splurge a little too!!!

I fully intend to look at the online menu. I'm a bit upset with myself in regards to this weekend though...I had LOST 2lbs last week and gained back those 2 lbs this weekend. It was like I gained back a pound day! :headache: I just got through scrubbing my dining room floor on my hands and knees...took me ONE hour. According to MFP, I burned close to 300 cal's in that hour!

I did the same thing with dinner out at Olive Garden this week. I HAD been down 1.5 lbs and now I am back to where I started. What is worse is no exercise today. I have some household issues that won't wait.....hang in there, you are not alone!!!

had a great work out today (spin class + 40 minutes walking intervals on treadmill + upper body weights) and then ate a bunch of crap, including mcdonalds ... ugh!

DD came home not feeling well so she will be home tomorrow, but it's a non gym day for me anyway so no big deal ... must get eating under control though!

Good job on the workout. I ended up with a Mcdonalds dinner too...yuck! I have been fairly good the rest of the day though. No exercise today so I really need to rock it tomorrow.

Cleaning house burns calories! Found out that one hour of vigorus cleaning burns over 300 cals! So yeah I'm scrubbing floors again today!

Nice job!! You should really try doing your strength training before cardio. Start with a 5-10 minute warm-up on the treadmill or something, then do weight training and then cardio.

Household chores and gardening does count.

Great job!!!!

I was told I had to have 129g of protein and I can't do it. I'm trying my best but just can't get enough in.

Last night I had my first session with the trainer and he put me through the wringer. I'm so sore today. Looking forward to be tortured again next week.
