I have mobility issues and getting off of those rides scare me. I first became aware of this as I nearly fell getting off of The Little Mermaid. It is something to do with the visual of moving even though the floor is stopped. Spaceship Earth is OK as the CMs seem to be more aware and it seems to move slower at the end. I have steered away from rides like Haunted Mansion, Buzz Lightyear and others. I would like to go on Buzz again, is there any help for me?

Most rides CAN be stopped for loading and unloading. Tell the first CM you see in line and then every other one too to make sure they have things in place. A few cannot, I'm thinking Peter Pan is one that can not.

Most rides CAN be stopped for loading and unloading . . .

1) Most rides CAN be stopped.
2) But, whether the CM stops them or not may be an issue.
3) They do not HAVE to stop a ride, and if a busy time or period, some will not.
4) You need to check when entering the ride queue and again just before boarding.

Thank you for your answers. I tried editing the spelling errors, but could not! I will not be traveling soon, and when I do, I will ask the CMs.

I wish I knew that most rides could be stopped. I have major balance issues and getting on and off the moving plat forms is a real task for me. This next trip I plan on taking advantage of that :) of course there are the select rides that can not be stopped like Peter Pan that I will just have to suck it up and deal with it lol. My husband is very helpful in helping me get on the rides so that's a bonus if they can't stop the ride :)

The mobile app doesn't seem to be as functional as a regular computer. I did it for you. ;)

As a note, my understanding is that the only rides which cannot be stopped are Peter Pan and the Tomorrowland Transit Authority. However, as previously mentioned, while other rides may be stopped, it is at the CM's discretion and there were several posts this fall about CM's not stopping/slowing rides. As suggested, best to ask as you enter the ride queue.

Enjoy your vacation!

The iPad Safari browser worked previously - it's some issue with the newest update. I'm in the same boat - some menu items work and others don't.

You are corrct that Peter Pan and Tomorrowland Transit Authority are the ones that can't be stopped.
For the others, in order to stop them the guest needs to board at the correct place. If you are using a mobility device, like a wheelchair, ECV or wheelchair, you will be routed to that area without dong anything.

I'm afraid of the same thing! Although I won't be going on either of the two rides in MK that you mentioned next week, I'll let you know about others I encounter. So far, this is how I've been able to handle it-I spot something stationery that I can reach out and grab as soon as possible when I get off the ride. I make sure I have it in my sights before I get out of the ride vehicle. A couple times CMs seem to have seen me looking, so I've been lucky enough that a CM will occassionally stand there and offer for me to grab onto them. However, like I said, I don't know how things will go this week, but I'll let you know.

If I've alerted every CM along the way that I need the belt slowed or stopped to board and disembark, and it was slowed or stopped at load for me to board, and I've asked the CM at unload to slow or stop it and he refuses, I'm not going to disembark unsafely. I'll stay on until they decide to make it safe for me to get off.

1) Good thought, but . . .
2) You might not be permitted to board. *
3) During busy times, it is better to not slow/slop some of the rider(s).
4) At such times, there might be A LOT of people wanting slow/stop.
5) It does the mechanisms and drive chains harm for such. **
6) Breakdowns during busy times/days/periods is not a good thing.

* I have actually witnessed people being halted at the ride load station because
the ride was not going to be slowed/stopped. I am not making a judgment here,
just stating facts.

** As an engineer who has designed drive system and ride systems, I have seen
the effects of frequent interruptions.
