Getting nervous about the weather

We will be arriving the weekend of the 24th and staying for 8 nights. I just looked at the current 10 day forecast at Weather.com and it is basically rainy for most of the next 10 days (I think there is 2 days of sun.....the rest is rain, not clouds). Now I know we won't melt and many enjoy Disney in the rain..but we love warm weather, wearing shorts and using the pools. I know the weather is hit or miss in the Spring, but this stretch of rain seems unusual for Southern California. We have two small ones (4 years and a 15 month old) and I picture us soaked with our double stroller dripping wet for them to sit in. I know we'll have fun, and I was ready for one day or so of drizzles, but not stretches of 6 days straight. :scared1:

Well, I just looked on accuweather.com and it says sunny and partly sunny with highs in the low 70s but DH is always telling me they can't really predict that far out anyway. But that might give you some hope. :)

You're right that spring weather is hard to predict and that much rain would be unusual but we have el nino this year so we're getting a lot more rain than usual. I still would be surprised if it rained so many days in a row but you never know.

Also, maybe you can find one of those stroller rain covers to bring with you just in case. You could keep it in the package and save the reciept so that if you don't end up using it, you could return it when you got home.

WAY too early to be worrying about weather. It seems to me that a lot of the weather websites always list it as a small % of chance of rain, although it rarely happens. The good news is that there isn't usually much rain in April, so even if you do happen to get a rainy day, I doubt it would be more than 1. So try not to stress, it'll be ok. :goodvibes

Yeah, a lot can change in 10 days, so I'd try not to worry.

When we went in December 2009, it was predicted to rain at some points for all 5 days of our trip. And it did rain Friday evening and all of Saturday. But Wednesday and Thursday were clear, as was Sunday. Friday before dark wasn't really sunny but it was bright and not raining. I think the threat/potential of rain kept crowds down too, and so overall I think it was my best trip ever. I do like cold and rainy weather, admittedly, but the crowds were the lowest I ever recall seeing.

Anyway, our "5 days of rain predicted!" trip turned out to be 1.5 days of rain and half an overcast day. Some of the best days of all are those where rain is predicted but it doesn't happen!

Friday was overcast but fairly bright until nighttime when it did start to sprinkle, then rain:

I think a stroller rain cover is a great idea! Especially if you keep the receipt! I saw some people using ponchos to cover their strollers (with a kid inside) and it didn't look comfortable.

Have a great trip!

Rain rocks. Very short lines, if any. I'm from Oregon. Warm and raining is do-able. Better than cold and rainy.

I'm a little nervous about the weather, too, even though I'm from rainy western Washington! A couple of days next week show 50-60% chance of rain and one day shows thundershowers. :( What are some indoor things to do to duck out of the rain?

50-60% chance of rain is 40-50% chance of sun. :D

And even if it does rain, you'll have plenty of things to do. I don't know all the rides that would close due to rain, but I do know you'll have plenty of places to get out of the rain. It's just the getting to and from that you'll get wet. ;)

If it's really pouring and you need to get out of the rain, Innoventions can be a good stop, as can any of the shows (Tiki Room and EO in DL and Aladdin, Bugs Life, Muppets, and the Playhouse in DCA).
