I will think you will be surprised at how well she feels post-op. You'll probably have trouble keeping her from running and jumping when she gets home. You can always ask your veterinarian for some pain medication to give at home. Hope all goes well.
Here's a picture of my nutso border collie mix when he came home from the vet after being fixed. We were supposed to keep him quiet, but it was almost impossible, so obviously it didn't bother him much.
We got our puppy spayed last May and she was 14 months old. We didn't feel comfortable with the vet at our new location so we drove her back to where we used to live 4 hours away. We had the absolutely best vet in the whole world and he was so compassionate with the animals so we wanted him to do the surgery. You would never know that anything happened to her. When we picked her up she was groggy but after she slept it off, she was fine. I can definitely feel your concern because they are our babies, especially the little itty bitty ones. Make sure you let us know how she does.
