Getting married abroad

Hi

Got a question that I know one of you out there will be able to answer.

A friend of mine is getting married in Las Vegas later this month and keeps getting told different information from the local registry office in Bournemouth.

They reckon that she needs to have a Certificate of No Impediment which will cost £60. We don't think this is correct, she's tried to contact the US embassy but they wouldn't help. Virgin say its not needed but the registry office insist it is.

Personally we trust Virgin more but wondered if any of you out there have been in a similar situation.

Thanks in anticipation!

Sam I got married at WDW and I didn't need anything like that???

Thanks for replying Kaylee.

To be honest we didn't think you needed anything for marrying in the States. Bournemouth Registry Office aren't being too helpful at the moment and my friend is panicking as to whether she'll be able to get married.
