Me = Claire (33), massive Disney fan, chief planner (a little on the OCD side ) obsessive shopper, addicted to scrapbooking and very impulsive which doesnt bode well for our credit cards!
Hubby = Lee (34), not a massive Disney fan but still enjoys it, adrenaline junkie, easy going and the sensible half of our partnership!
Saturday 6th December 2008.
I had a really bad nights sleep and spent pretty much all night awake having hot & cold sweats, constant coughing, (I was actually vomiting as I was coughing so hard) struggling to breathe as my nose was so blocked. I think I kept Lee was awake most of the night too .poor thing kept asking if he could doing anything to help.
About 6am I took a second lot of night-time tablets (cant remember what they were called) and finally got a few hours sleep. When I woke about 10ish I forced myself to get up and showered as I was so disappointed that the holiday was being ruined.
We went out about midday, stopping at a camera shop on I-drive as Lee wanted to get a tripod for the camera (I forgot to pack ours) to take some night/firework pictures. Next door was an Edwin Watts golf shop so he wanted to have a look in there too .he didnt get any golf stuff but he did get a nice pair of sunglasses for $40.
We then went straight onto Seaworld, it was a lovely warm day again a beautiful blue sky. As soon as we entered Lee said he was really hungry so we decided to see if we could get a table at Sharks Grill. We have eaten here a few times & although it is expensive it is probably the best food option available in the park. We were lucky & told to come back in 20 mins, so we hung around and went through the shark viewing tunnel & then I fed the small sharks outside the restaurant .well the big fish ate all the fish rather than the sharks!
We went back up to the desk and they told us to take a seat in the waiting section, we were called after a few minutes and given a table in the second row right by the tank.
I had the Filet Mignon steak and asked for fries as I didnt like the potato choice that came with it. Lee had Filet Mignon & Lobster combo which was served with a Lobster Risotto & Crab cake. For dessert I had Caged White Chocolate Mousse (which was too rich & I didnt eat much) & Lee had Coconut Neapolitan. Both meals were very nice.
I am sorry to say that I did remember to take photos of these meals however all of our photos from today (Day 6) have somehow been lost.
I am absolutely gutted as it was all the good photos of the special Miracles Shamu show, Blue Horizions & the Christmas decorations at the waterfront. Neither of us can figure out what has happened but they have definitely gone for good!
After lunch we checked the show times on the map and it was almost time for ALure, I dont know if this is a new show but we have never seen it before. The show had acrobats (kind of Cirque du Soleil but no where near as good). It was ok but I wouldnt rush to see it again. We then went over to Stingray Lagoon & Lee fed them .I have done this before but they were really splashing today and fighting over the food so I let him have the pleasure!!!
It was almost time for the Blue Horizons show so we made our way over and got some good seats. Lee went to get a drink so I could take some more tablets whilst we waited for the show to start. It is such a good show and we have seen it several times now but it is still just as entertaining as the first time we saw it. Obviously I havent got any photos but here are a few from our 2006 trip:
Dolphins:
False killer whales:
We then went over to Kraken to see what the queue time was like, it was walk on so Lee went on (there was no way my head could of handled it), we both love this ride and realised it was the first time he had been on it in the dark.
We walked over to the Waterfront to see the Christmas lights and took some photos using the tripod they were much better than the ones we took on Day 4 but youll have to take my word for it!
Here are some taken on my little compact camera and they are very grainy so my apologies in advance:
This wreath was about 12 feet wide:
This snowflake was approx 8 feet:
The Waterfront decorations & Santas sleigh:
We walked back up to the Shamu Stadium & took our seats for the Miracles show.........Cont'd below....
