Me = Claire (33), massive Disney fan, chief planner…(a little on the OCD side ;) ) obsessive shopper, addicted to scrapbooking and very impulsive which doesn’t bode well for our credit cards!

Hubby = Lee (34), not a massive Disney fan but still enjoys it, adrenaline junkie, easy going and the sensible half of our partnership!

18th December 2008

We woke around 8.30am, got showered & walked over to Epcot arriving about 10am. We headed straight for The Land & grabbed some FP’s for Soarin (return time was 12.36 to 1.36pm). We headed over & rode The Seas with Nemo & Friends, we haven’t been on this before.

We came out and waited for Turtle Talk with Crush, again this was something else we hadn't done previously. It was really cute. :goodvibes:

By now it was 11.30am & we had a lunch reservation at Le Cellier for 12.05pm so we walked back up to World Showcase to Canada. I had a look in the shops in Canada & bought a Christmas tree decoration then made our way to the restaurant.

We then checked in & waited for about 5 minutes before being seated. Our server was Lauren from Ontario, she was lovely & by far the best server we had this trip. We both ordered the Cheddar Cheese Soup to start which was very nice & went very well with the lovely breadsticks. For main course Lee chose the New York Strip Steak which he asked for with mash potatoes, I went for the Filet Mignon which was served with wild mushroom risotto and white truffle-herb butter sauce – Oh My Goodness!!! It was lovely and I totally cleared my plate!! (I am going to book it twice for September). We were full up but I had to try the Chocolate “Moose” as I had seen pictures of it on the DIS, Lee opted for the Maple Syrup Crème Brulee. He loved it!

My Moose was ok but a little rich so I only ate half, here he is…..

We paid the bill $95 + tip and waddled out of the restaurant! :lmao: It was 1.30pm so we were now able to use our Soarin FP’s.

We loved Soarin. :goodvibes Then we had a walk around taking some photos of the Christmas decorations & of course Spaceship Earth. As we walked between the Innoventions West buildings we could see Donald Duck through the window at the Character meet & greet spot, he had no one in his queue & was just standing around. He waved to us, I waved back and he blew me a kiss, so I blew a kiss back to him and he went all shy & embarrassed – it was so cute!!

We also got some photopass pics taken:

We looked in some of the gift shops and discovered that they now had a sale on….40% off all Christmas decorations. :faint: Lee had a major strop as I had spent a fortune on Christmas stuff this trip & we could have saved hundreds of $$$’s.

My reaction on the other hand was slightly different…..I decided it was a good opportunity to buy more! :teeth: ::yes:: Which is exactly what I did & got them sent to International Gateway exit so I could pick them up later. :thumbsup2

We headed over to Mexico to begin our journey around World Showcase, we had a little look around the stalls.

Then on to Norway…

…followed by China, we arrived just as a crowd was forming waiting for the Dragon Legend Acrobats, they were very good.

We had a look around the shops and then took some photos.

We walked over to the outpost & had a look at the shop.

Then onto Germany where we had a wander around & grabbed ourselves a beer. The miniature village & trains were looking a little shabby and in need of an engineer to clear the leaves of the tracks! :lmao:

We had now got back to where we left off a few days ago & decided to head back to the hotel to chill & pack as we are leaving tomorrow.

We walked round to the International Gateway exit and back to the hotel via Beaches & Cream where we shared a Banana Split, Lee also had a Mint Choc Chip milkshake!

IMG_9708.jpg

We popped into the arcade next door to Beaches & Cream where we had a couple of games of basketball (I won 2-1, which never happens! :cheer2: ) then Lee played some other games whilst I sat outside watching people in Stormalong Bay.

We got back to the room at 5.30pm & I sat on the bed resting my blistered feet for an hour. I then packed the majority of our stuff ready for checking out in the morning.

At 7.30pm we headed back to Epcot and took some night-time photos…

We walked over to the UK & got some chips & a drink to share, we sat in the garden by the British Invasion stage whilst we ate them.

Afterwards we walked over the bridge to get a spot to watch Illuminations. Just past the bridge there are a few steps down on to some platforms by the lake so we sat there and waited the 20 mins for the fireworks to start at 9.30pm.

They added some extra one’s at the end as part of the Christmas celebrations & boy were they loud!!! I don’t think I have ever heard fireworks that loud before, they were fab & a great way to finish off our last night!! ::yes::

We made our way back to the Yacht club picking up the last of my shopping at the shop at International Gateway. We watched tv for a while & went to sleep about 12am.

Coming soon - Day 19….DTD check in, our last few hours & the journey home.

I know Craig claims to have put his Day 6 on top of the pile of priorities, so how come he is busy reading trip reports then.:rotfl2:

I blame Claire for the delay - every time I go to write Day 6 she posts another day's report, which I cannot resist and ends up taking up all of my time reading through and admiring the photos ;)

Hey no blaming Claire, anyway her reports are finished now, no excuse. Still it is nice to have something to look forward to reading:) .
