18th December 2008
We woke around 8.30am, got showered & walked over to Epcot arriving about 10am. We headed straight for The Land & grabbed some FP’s for Soarin (return time was 12.36 to 1.36pm). We headed over & rode The Seas with Nemo & Friends, we haven’t been on this before.
We came out and waited for Turtle Talk with Crush, again this was something else we hadn't done previously. It was really cute.
:
By now it was 11.30am & we had a lunch reservation at Le Cellier for 12.05pm so we walked back up to World Showcase to Canada. I had a look in the shops in Canada & bought a Christmas tree decoration then made our way to the restaurant.
We then checked in & waited for about 5 minutes before being seated. Our server was Lauren from Ontario, she was lovely & by far the best server we had this trip. We both ordered the Cheddar Cheese Soup to start which was very nice & went very well with the lovely breadsticks. For main course Lee chose the New York Strip Steak which he asked for with mash potatoes, I went for the Filet Mignon which was served with wild mushroom risotto and white truffle-herb butter sauce – Oh My Goodness!!! It was lovely and I totally cleared my plate!! (I am going to book it twice for September). We were full up but I had to try the Chocolate “Moose” as I had seen pictures of it on the DIS, Lee opted for the Maple Syrup Crème Brulee. He loved it!
My Moose was ok but a little rich so I only ate half, here he is…..
We paid the bill $95 + tip and waddled out of the restaurant!
It was 1.30pm so we were now able to use our Soarin FP’s.
We loved Soarin.
Then we had a walk around taking some photos of the Christmas decorations & of course Spaceship Earth. As we walked between the Innoventions West buildings we could see Donald Duck through the window at the Character meet & greet spot, he had no one in his queue & was just standing around. He waved to us, I waved back and he blew me a kiss, so I blew a kiss back to him and he went all shy & embarrassed – it was so cute!!
We also got some photopass pics taken:
We looked in some of the gift shops and discovered that they now had a sale on….40% off all Christmas decorations.
Lee had a major strop as I had spent a fortune on Christmas stuff this trip & we could have saved hundreds of $$$’s.
My reaction on the other hand was slightly different…..I decided it was a good opportunity to buy more!
Which is exactly what I did & got them sent to International Gateway exit so I could pick them up later.
We headed over to Mexico to begin our journey around World Showcase, we had a little look around the stalls.
Then on to Norway…
