Getting hard to get ADRs for large group

Disney veteran, however next fall we are planning on taking a trip that include my stepdaughter’s family. There will be 9 of us in all. The “Must do” for that trip is Cinderella’s Royal table. I realize in that small dining room, it’s unlikely there is one table that will fit all of us. So I know the solution is to get a table for 4 and one for 5. My question is, how do people do this when the reservations go so fast? I’m a planner, and normally I like the thrill of snagging ADRs. My stepdaughter is a newbie and I don’t really want to put the responsibility of getting a table for her family on her. How do most people handle needing 2 tables? Is this something where a TA would have an advantage?

TAs have no advantage, they book the same way you would. My advice would be to plan for CRT as late in your trip as possible. Assuming you're staying onsite, that would give you the best chance of it being available. And of course be online and ready to go before 6am EST. Also keep in mind that CRT must be booked online, not through the app.

Watching this as well. I have a group of 13. Want to book dinner at California Grill or the Fireworks party at California grill next fall. I know calling it in will be too late.

I just did this. I had to make the First table of 4 or 5 in the other person's name then immediately go back and make another reservation in my name. The times might be off by 5mins maybe 10 but that was ok with me.

We are a party of 9. My husband has his own mde but we friends on mde. On day of I signed into my mde set up first res and when window pops up to assign names I put his name in place of mine. Otherwise it won't allow you to do a second table.

However know that to change or cancel that reservation with their name as lead it'll have to be done in their mde account.

I use two different devices. I sign in under my MDE on one and under my husband on the other. Then I search and try to book the tables that I need for our group at the same time. One under his name, the other under mine.

I made our ADRs today for our party of nine and was able to reserve seven restaurants online all sitting together, so they are opening up more large tables. When I tried a month ago eight was the maximum, and we didn’t want to be separated. So there is hope!

I hope that’s the case. We only plan to do a few ADRs and don’t think it will be a huge issue anywhere else. I just know CRT is very limited seating and I don’t remember there being any extra big tables.
