Despite driving to WDW numerous times, I always get lost in Orlando coming off the turnpike. Can someone give me simple directions on what roads I need to take to get from the turnpike to the WDW entrance?

Last time, I used mapquest to take me to SSR, and I ended up going thru the back entrance where all the service vehicles are. Not very magical. After 1000 miles in the car, I need to see the sign with Mickey. :thumbsup2

You can take the turnpike to SR429 and get off at Hartzog Rd. This will take you in Western Way which terminates at CSR. There is a welcome to WDW arch on Western Way.

The other way to to get off at I4 West and go to SR536 which is the DTD/EPCOT exit or the next exit which is the Osceola Parkway Exit (DAK)

If you are staying at SSR again and don't want the traffic of SR535 and DTD then you will want SR536 and get off at the OKW/DTD resorts exit and shhot across Bonnett Creek Parkway onto Vacation Club Way.

Thanks! We're staying at Boardwalk, so it looks like I want the second option. I just take the turnpike to I-4 West and then get off on SR536.

It sounds so simple! I don't know why we have such problems. We inevitably end up going the wrong way onto a toll road. :confused3

Actually, if you are staying at Boardwalk, do the turnpike to 429 to Western Way. BW is only about a mile from Western Way.

Almost no traffic, very easy.

So use the Hartzog Rd exit from 429 and turn onto Western Way, take Western Way to the end and turn left onto Buena Vista Dr. BW is a left at the 5th traffic light right by the entrance to Studios.

LOVE the Western Way route - saves about 20 minutes, and little traffic. You'll want Exit 267A of the Turnpike, then stay on the right side of the exit ramp. Western Way (SR429) is a toll road, you'll have one toll of $1.25. The exit to Disney is well marked and you'll come in right next to Coronado Springs Resort, which will be on your left.

We stay at BWV alot and love the new tollway. You do need to be careful about speed limits because we saw cars pulled over coming in last month and have read about it on the boards here. It is right when you come through the Disney gate.

We are originally from STL and do not miss the 1000 mile drive.
