we are planning to visit the contemporary and do some water activities there. but our stay is with saratoga springs. we will have no car, so we are relying on disney transportation. what is the quickest way to get there? is there a specific bus that takes you from one resort to the next? or do i have to figure out from pt one to a park, transfer to this bus, and that, etc?
can someone pls help me out? thank you! :flower:

thank you for your quick reply! so i just look for a bus that will take me to mk? simple as that? do you know how long the bus may take? is it a "high demand" bus...i imagine, since it's going to mk... oh...and you mention a short walk...how long exactly is the short walk? 20 mins? 5 mins? just trying to time ourselves, so we are not late to our activities.

and would you happen to know how to go back? what bus would i need to go back to saratoga springs from the contemporary?

thanx! :flower:

There are no resort-to-resort buses at WDW. You have to "connect" through a park or Disney Springs. The solution that @CdnKayDee provided is the quickest and most direct route. Depending on your location at SSR, you could also walk to the bus depot at Disney Springs and take a bus directly to any resort, including Contemporary.

The other option is a taxi, or Uber/Lyft service. We've done that when we have ADRs and a somewhat tight schedule.

You can not use the pool and play area at BLT unless you are staying there. You can use the pool(s) at the contemporary. Also you could take the monorail to GF and use their pool and splash areas.

we will be at the treehouse. but i understand that is part of saratoga springs, and the disney transportation is all at saratoga springs...right? :flower:

we were not planning on using the pools at the other resorts. and yes, i know blt has a very strict pool hopping policy. we are going to use the marina activities at the contemporary. thank you! :flower:

I would say 10 min walk tops and yes tree house is part of SSR but you wont have to walk over to SSR lobby or anything like that the bus does run thru the treehouse section. I would say MK buses should be the most frequent but we are car renters so we dont bus that much anymore. I would be at the bus stop a min 40 min before planned time at Cont.

Disney always says to allow an hour and a half I believe when you have to get somewhere via their transportation. I'd plan on that - 40 minutes is too tight and doesn't allow for a late bus.

You also could use Uber if you preferred or got in a time crunch - they wouldn't be able to pick you up right at the Treehouse because it's access is restricted via a gate but you could go over to SSR and request a pick if there.

I'd go to MK and walk over, but you can get the monorail from MK without going in the park. Hardly worth it though- by the time you had walked to it and waited, you could probably have walked directly there from the bus stop.

I use this site for transportation at WDW. It provides most options and estimated times from anywhere in WDW to anywhere else. I keep it bookmarked while there and it's come in handy more than a few times.

I like that site too but want to point out it is showing the normal actual travel time and not allowing for any waits for the transportation to arrive. ie - if you walk up to the stop and the bus is there and then walk from the buses over to the monorail at MK to CR and the monorail is sitting there that is the time they give. But if you have to wait 20 minutes for a bus because you just missed one leaving or you the monorail is in a hold and you have to wait 10-15 minutes that's already doubling the time they say it takes to get from SSR to CR.

We almost always do a trip to Chef Mickey's and take a cab/uber for time sensitive appointments. We didn't on our last trip and we were late for a Ohana ressie going an hour early from BLT because the monorail was down and busses to the TTC were sparse. Cab/uber will be the most definitive.
