Getting from POP Century to the Wide World of Sports Complex

I am coming to DIsney again in 2 weeks for the Twirl Mania baton competition. Its being held in the WIde World of Sports Complex. We will be at POP a week, and I really dont want to spend the money on renting a car. Especially since my parents are coming, and I'd need a car for 6 people. I only have to be at the complex for 2 days. I need to be there Friday morning by 9:30 and Saturday morning around 7am.

First..is there a shuttle or bus that goes to the sports complex from POP?

Second.. Im thinking a cab would be the best and cheapest way to get there , especially for the mornings. What cab service should I use? Is there one at POP? How far in advance would I need to call for one?

You're correct on both points.
No, there is not a bus that goes directly from Pop to WWoS (although you can double-check that on arrival; maybe if most/all the participants are staying at Pop, Disney will set up a special bus run?
As for taxi - yes, that's probably your best option; and don't worry about what company to call. Generally there are cabs available at each Resort, or at the very worst, you could ask the Concierge (yes, even the Value Resorts have 'em, they used to be called Guest Services) for assistance.

you can walk there from the Pop Century....

It is less than a mile - probably less than a half mile - but you have to get out of Pop century....

you probably won't be the only one walking....

if you parents want to join you - then they can take the bus to Studios - from Studios there is one that goes to WWoS.

however if you have to be there at a certain time - I would walk....

that bus is not know for reliability....

Even though it is a walkable distance from Pop Century to WWoS, you can't walk there as there are no sidewalks. Disney Security will pick up anyone walking where there are no paths or sidewalks.

Friday morning by 9:30 is doable on Disney transportation. Take a bus about 8:00 am from POP to the Disney Studios, then take the WWoS bus from the Studios. To return to POP, do the reverse, however the bus from the Studios to WWoS only runs from 8:00 am till 8:00 pm, so if you have to be there past 8:00 pm, then you need to get a cab back.

Saturday morning by 7:00 am, you need a cab. Just go out front and there should be several cabs in the cab parking area near the front entrance. If not, drop by "resort concierge" or even the luggage assistance folks and they will hail one for you.

Are you sure you saw them walking from POp and not the All Stars?

From POP you have to cross a busy highway and the lights are not timed to allow for pedestrians crossing.
