DH has a conference at the Dolphin/Swan in June but is willing to let us stay at POFQ the whole time so we get free dining, even though it means a lot of extra travel time for him. :lovestruc Do you think if he caught a bus around 6:30 to HS and then a boat to the Swan/Dolphin that would be the fastest? Or ask the bus driver and catch a bus from a park?

Thanks!

It is the fastest for free, if the boats aren't running yet, he could also walk, about 20 minutes.
The fastest is a taxi, 10 minutes, maybe $12-$14 door to door.

Take the bus to DHS and ask the bus driver. If the boats aren't running yet, the bus will most likely drop him at the hotel, or worst case arrange for a bus from DHS to the hotel.

At 6:30am there won't be great bus service ....it might only be the character dining bus. I would rent a car or get a taxi.

I agree that a taxi would be around $12-14 one way. So this might be the lowest cost option if he's willling to take the bus back in the afternoon.

Echo what pp's posted, cab would be my first choice followed by bus.

Honestly though have you priced out staying at the Dolphin vs POFQ even with free dining? If your getting a free room or even a convention rate at the Dolphin you will be at a wonderful deluxe resort with boat/walking access to two parks and all the amentites of WDW resort except DME.

Sorry to go OT but the Dolphin is our favorite resort !

Balcony overlooking the boardwalk and some with Epcot fireworks view. Two casual restaurants & 3 table serve restaurants. One of the best pool areas on property, water slide, waterfall, two lap pools and a quiet "spring pool". :)

I wouldn't count on the bus driver taking him from DHS if the driver has a route to finish. There are no buses from DHS to any Epcot resorts or from the Epcot resorts to DHS or EPcot. He might get lucky and the driver takes him but don't expect it.:goodvibes

He may be able to get an early bus to DHS...they 'should' be up and running by 6:30am. BUT, the boats won't be running that early. They don't start until much closer to 8am. So, he will have to walk...takes under 20 mins. I make it in about 15.
He 'may' get lucky and have a bus driver drop him at the S/D area on his way out. All depends on where he is headed next. Dh can ask..but be sure he plans accordingly..just in case no offer comes his way.

If it were me??? I would just get a cab. Will be under $15 one way and fairly quick...not nearly as much wasted time as using the buses.

You are both right that the driver from PO may or not take the guest to the Epcot resort. It is up to the driver to take the initiative to request and get permission for the drop-off.

BUT -- the guest definitely will not have to walk. As I said, worst case, if the boats are not yet running, a bus will pick them up at DHS and drop them off. The guest just has to let a transportation cm at DHS know where they are going.

Thank you guys so much for your help! Unfortunately POFQ was booked, POR too :sad2: And we decided the cab was the safer choice to be sure he's on time. Thanks for the great advice!
