Im going to Disney in Feb for the first time and I am not sure really how difficult the transportation in the parks is going to be and how much time I should give for getting place to place. On Feb. 15 we are going to MGM, we have a dinner reservation at 50's prime time at 5:30 and then have the Pirates and Princess Party at Magic Kingdom at 7:30. Should I make my reservation earlier or will I have enough time to get there?? How long does it take to get from MGM to the Magic Kingdom ??

I think you're cutting it too close. From MGM, you'll take a bus to the Ticket and Transportation Center (TTC), and from there you'll take the monorail or a boat to MK.

Let's say you get seated right away for dinner. Let's say dinner takes 1 hour. It's now 6:30. You're at the bus stop at 6:40. You may wait 15 or 20 minutes for the bus. So let's say it's 7:00 now. You get to TTC at 7:15. So you get off the bus and walk to the monorail station and now it's 7:20 p.m. You get on the monorail at 7:25 p.m., off by 7:30 p.m., and through bag check and the turnstiles by 7:35 p.m.

That's just one possible timeline. For my taste, it's cutting it too close, but it's your call to make.

HAVE FUN!

Agh. I think you're cutting it too close too. Anyway you can switch to an earlier time for dinner, or maybe make it a late lunch at 50's and then if you get hungry later on you can always eat a counter service meal at the MK

Yeah. I think I will have to change it because its not like I know my way around WDW. So if I made the reservation for 4:00 do you think I would have time ?

I think if you make it for 5:00pm you'll be fine. Another route (which I think is faster) would be to take a bus from MGM to CR, Poly or GF and then hop the Monorail to MK. If you take the bus to CR, you could also walk (less than 10 mins.) to MK.

That will work and you can take which ever of those busses show up first.
