Am I correct in thinking there is no official shuttle between the airport and the Royal Pacific resort? How do you get there? I don't really want to rent a car as a)I'm a new driver and have never driven in a city that size, b) I'll be under 25 and don't want to pay the extra fee and c) it seems like such a waste for just getting to the resort.

How are the cab fares? Is there some way I can find out how much that would cost? Is there an 'unofficial' shuttle or something nearby I could take advantage of? eep! I'll be travelling alone for a con. at the WWoHP and I don't want to get stranded at the airport LOL.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Cheapest option for a single passenger is probably the Mears shuttle service (~$20) with multiple hotel stops. Taxi is about $35 and limo service around$50.

The Mears shuttle is fine and less expensive as long as you are not in a hurry. They will be dropping people off at different hotels and you just have to wait your turn.

Taxi is a little more expensive but will be direct to your hotel from the airport.

You can also hire a town car service to take you. More expensive but can be the best deal for families and can save you money if you plan on stopping at a store to pick up food/drinks for your vacation.

I would not rent a car if you are planning on staying at Universal the whole time. You will have to pay for the rental and for parking at the hotel.

We are trying to decide which transportation to take on our trip also. But we have a family of five and are leaning toward the car service. If you are just looking for one or two people, I would go with Mears or Taxi.

Tell the taxi starter you are willing to share a ride. You may find others in the same situation and can split the fare.

If you don't mind let me know how your car service goes. We also have a family of 5 and was looking for the best way back/forth to MCO
We are going in March/2010

we used www.happylimo.com and had a great experience for a WDW trip. You can go to their site and get a quote for the trip. www.mousesavers.com has a discount code if you book a round trip. You don't need to share a ride and they will be there for you when need them and be ready when you are set to return. Tiffany Town Car is another reputable service.

With the discount it would be about $100 r/t plus tip.
