Does anyone know how much a taxi would cost from LA Union Station to the West Coast Anaheim Hotel near Disneyland?

We are thinking of travelling from Monterey to LA on the Coast Starlight Train which arrives at Union Station at 9.15 pm.

Just something else I've found to make our tour of California even more complicated, but it looks like a great route to see by train :D

Thanks

Why don't you just continue on the train until you get to the Anaheim station, if it does that? Then you'll just need a taxi for the 5-10 minutes it takes to get to the DL area.

Hi Mary Jo, thanks for the reply.

Unfortunately the Coast Starlight stops at LA station, we would have to get a connection which leaves at 9.45 arriving at Anaheim at 10.15 I think so I was just thinking it would be quicker to get a taxi instead of waiting for another train, then a taxi!

Does anyone know exactly how long the journey would take by taxi from the station to the hotel? Any help would be great :D

Hopping on the 101 to the 5 freeway at 1015 am is bad. Traffic can be terrible and it would be at least an hour minimum maybe 2 hours to D-Land. If your coming in at 1015 PM then by all means take a taxi it'll take 30-45 mins to get there but at either time it will be expensive by taxi. You might want to look into a shuttle or taking that other train. In my experience with Amtrak they are never never never on time in the 20 some odd years i've been traveling with Amtrak they have never been on time. Just a warning...

Mazzy,
Even if you wait a little extra time for the connecting train, it would probably save you time considering traffic around here. It would absolutely save you $$$$. Plus, keep in mind, that public transport (ie., buses, taxi's etc..) are not used in California the same way as other places. They are few & far between. Personally, I wouldn't want to make that 35-40 mile trip in L.A. traffic with the cab drivers I've seen on the road. The Anaheim station is located in the parking lot of Edison Field (aka Angel's Stadium), very close to DL. There are usually a couple cabs available there. Good luck planning. Sounds like a fun trip!!
