Hi everyone..looking for tips on getting from dlh to the parks and what time.

We will be there Tues. Jun 28-Sunday July 3rd and have 5 day park hopper pass. What is the best walking route to the parks (I have 2 sons, ages 10 & 5) who are use to the WDW walking.

Also what time to get there in the mornings?

For mid-day breaks any tips on getting back or when the park closes.

Probably not bringing the stroller since my 5 1/2 is too big at this point.....if needed we can rent..thanks!

It is a straight shot from the DLH through Downtown Disney to the opening gates of the two parks. The walk (with a five-year old) probably takes about 10-15 minutes. It could be a little faster, but our five-year old likes to look.

You can also take the monorail from just outside the DLH to inside DL (one stop in Tomorrowland). This might be a nice way back in the afternoon also. You will really like how compact everything is. We did not use a stroller at all for our 5 year old this last time.

The parks will most likely open at 8am. I suggest walking through DTD in the mornings and using the monorail later in the day if you take a break. For DCA, walking is your best bet.

I agree. It's best to get to DL's main entrance a bit before the park opens, which means walking through DTD. The monorail often won't open up until opening or even a little after, and so you can usually get into DL faster by going through the main entrance. The monorail is usually not a good way back to the hotel if you leave right after parades, fireworks, Fantasmic or at closing. There can be long waits at these times. DTD is pretty festive in the evenings, so it's a fun walk back to the resorts. On the other hand, you often don't have much of a wait for the monorail midday, so the monorail is usually a good option when going back and forth to DLR or PP then.

Rule of thumb be in line at the front gates at least 30 minutes before scheduled opening.
