If you are doing any form of exercise, or if you are buying athletic shoes for any reason, get fitted at a running store. If you have lost a lot of weight, get fitted again! I had this done almost a year (and over 100 pounds) ago. Six months later, I needed to replace my shoes, so I just ordered the same ones. They never really fit right, but I wore them anyway. I thought maybe it was the insoles, but that didn't fix the problem either. Now I am training for a 5K, so I need to make sure I have the right shoes. I went into the running store and told them my issue, and she asked if she could refit me. She said that my feet had changed, which is common wen people lose a lot of weight. I went down half a size and a width, and changed the style of shoe I needed. Unbelievable! She said her boss had lost a lot of weight and went from a 10 to an 8 1/2!

This extremely long story was to say...please go to a running store and have them fit you! It will make such a huge difference!

Wow, that is incredible...thanks for posting this!

I had a similar thing happen: I used to have knee pain when I ran, and the only way to make it stop was to use orthodics in my running shoes. Then I lost 30 pounds and got in better shape...suddenly I was having crazy foot pain. I went to the running store to get fitted for new shoes and the guy suggested staying with the same shoes but dumping the orthodics. Voila! Problem solved.

And CONGRATS on your weight loss!! :goodvibes

Best thing I ever did was go to the local "running only" store, they watched me walk and run with barefeet, then fitted me with the right size and style I needed....:goodvibes

I have lost 140 lbs., and gone from a 10 to an 8. I have to hit Fleet Feet every 50 lbs. or so, my feet seem to change super fast right now!
