Getting DAS in the parks....what's different?

Like many others, I have tried and tried to pre-register for DAS for our upcoming trip. We are 1 week away, and I'm tired of trying. I know the other option is to just register once we arrive at Disney. I also understand that by registering in the park, we lose the 2 advance selections for rides.

Other than that, what is different? We will be there for 4 days, and our first day is at Animal Kingdom. If I go straight to GR at Animal Kingdom for DAS, will they be able to get me the DAS for the following days? Or, do we need to go to GR at each park, each day? Are we running the risk of not getting a DAS for a certain ride?

You'll request DAS at your first park and it is good for length of stay (actually 60 days). Other than not having the Advanced Selections for each day, DAS is exactly the same as the pre-registration.

AK is a little different, I think because of the small size of their Guest Relations area.
They have been sending people requesting DAS to one of the blue Guest Experience umbrellas or a satellite Guest Relations area in front of one of the stores in Discovery Island area

There are 3 ways of obtaining DAS Return Times in the parks. Anyone linked to the DAS can schedule for the person registered for DAS.

1) CM at the individual attraction you want to go on, the same as before.

2) Guest Relations or Guest Experience umbrellas at various locations in the park

3) My Disney Experience app. The DAS ‘tile’ will show up after the person registered for DAS has entered the park

The only situation where you need to renew the DAS pass everyday is if your entering on a cast member guest pass (where technically that person could be different everyday). If you are entering on a regular purchased ticket it will be assigned to the DAS persons profile on the MDE app and be good for your entire trip.
