Getting around in electric scooter from hotel to parks and bed question

Okay, we've had reservations at Disney's CSR since January. Just decided to rearrange the vacation and not hit Disney at all since we have two 7 day Univeral Superbowl tix. I got a good deal on the CSR ressie, but am interested in HRH or RPR just to be closer to the parks. I will be renting an off-site scooter for use, and I'd like to hear from people how easy it is to navigate from the hotel to parks. I was told that they do offer a complimentary shuttle. Has anybody used this instead of the water taxi? How often does the shuttle come around? Knowing that these scooters don't travel very fast, it is probably best to get from the hotel to park via the shuttle I guess.

Also, has anybody had trouble with the beds at the RPR? I've been to expensive hotels and the beds have been Terrible! I would to hear from people if they've had any bad bed experiences - because that would ruin my trip.

TIA

RPR is closest to the park i have not stayed there but i have stayed at Hrh and it is a short walk to universal. The path is very nice.I enjoyed watching all the birds and squirrels running around.Takes about 5 min.to walk slowly.HRH beds are very nice.I remember them to be very firm which i like. The pull out sofa was horriable. If you don't want to hear any noise then don't book pool view.I found it very loud.

The shuttles come around every 20 -30 minutes.

The water taxis are very easy to use with an electric scooter. You just drive it right up into the boat. They have a small metal ramp that they lay down just for that purpose.

There are seats and room for wheelchairs, scooters and strollers on the upper level with the captain.

The beds are one of the best parts of the Loews hotel chains. Very comfy pillow top mattresses, 300 thread count linens, down comforters and pillows. If allergic, just call down to Star Services and get non-down items.

I have not found a Loew's bed I didn't love at any of their numerous locations. I think you will love the beds. I took my mother who was on a scooter to Universal last February. We stayed at the PBH. The boats are definitely easier than the bus shuttles when using a scooter. Plus the boats come more frequently. It is very easy to get on the boat like goofy said. They simply use a small ramp to drive the scooter on the boat. I think you will find it very easy to navigate aroudn US resort with your scooter. Enjoy!

We stayed at HRH in July and I rented a scooter from off site. It was very close and I simply scootered over to the parks. In the evening, part of our group would ride the boat back and several times I beat them back. The beds were very comfy at HRH.

I slept better at the RPR than I do at home. The beds are wonderful.
I also think it might be easier to just "scoot" to the parks. The paths are easy to navigate.

I wish the rollaway beds were like that. We're staying at RPR and need the rollaway but i doubt they are comfy as the beds.
