We have had ap's before but this time they have no idea I'm getting them again. I had to let them go last year.:scared: It has been the hardest year saving up for them again. We are planning on going on the 16th of Novemeber. How should I surprise them? Should I just pre buy the passes at Disney Store? Grocery Store? or on line?

We live only 30mins away. So we will be driving.

So any good ideas?

Thanks

Does your family know of the Nov 16th trip? Either way, you could buy the passes at the grocery and wrap them in a box, presenting them at dinner. That's an awesome present I'd like to get - I can send you my address :rolleyes1

Which AP's are you buying? Disney currently has a special $30 off Deluxe AP's. I'm surprising DBF with these for his b-day in Jan. Then we will buy the kids' AP's later in the year. Anyway, $30 is a good discount, buy those and print them up then give them as a surprise when you get to the parks on your first day. :)

If you're getting a so cal AP, you can get it any old way you choose, and present it to them. Heck, you could just buy normal tickets (as long as they are under the value of the passes you're getting, of course) and upgrade.

Nice thing about getting a new AP when you've recently let one expire is that you don't have to re-take pictures and it takes about 5 seconds. (just did this yesterday)

If you're getting Deluxes, definitely go with http://www.disneyland.com/deluxeoffer . A deluxe AP for 239 instead of 269! Nice! And it was SO easy at the gate, just took a second for my little temporary AP to print and then I was good to go! I chose to run into the AP center just after getting in (we were let in around 9:30 for a 10 am opening time) and was the ONLY guest in there, but if there's a line you can do it later (that goes for any upgrading or redeeming of vouchers of course).

Thanks for all of the ideas. I found a coupon that was mailed to me for $30 gift card per pass renewal. So it looks like I have to stand in line to get them. Oh, well the kids will still be surprised when we drive up. My husband found out about the passes. He thought I was up to something because I was a lot more happy than normal. :rotfl: Thanks again

What about getting them at Costco, where they have the $50 gift card as well?

I thought of that too, however I can't afford the extra $65 x4. Maybe next year. After not having them for a year I'm happy "just" getting the so cal one.We like to go on sundays and anytime durning the week. If I can save up by summer I might up grade them. I have been going to DL all my life many times a year. And I haven't done half the things you guys talk about.:confused3 So I can't wait to go and be a "tourist":thumbsup2
