Getting a Balloon Back Home

We recently bought a balloon on Main Street. It's the kind with a colored Mickey head inside of a clear bubble on the outside. It's lasted the whole trip, but sadly we have to go home tomorrow. Is there anyway we can get it home on the airplane outside of deflating it? Is there a way to cut it so that it stays nicely to flatten at home? This is our first balloon so any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

People have recently posted that they have untied the balloon to deflate it and folded it up to place in their luggage. You can get it reinflated once you return home. :)

We've done this twice and it works great. They don't knot the balloons, the just tie the string around it. This time around, once we inflated it again at home, we also just used the ribbon to tie it, so in theory, it can get re-inflated multiple times at home.

Guess the TSA considers a balloon a weapon?

Helium at sea level to however many ft above sea level they keep a plane pressurized to is not likely to have good results for the balloon. Deflate it.

I believe guest services used a BIC pen to open ours at the inflation port to take home.

One of those balloons, tied to the handle, is the easiest way to find your Disney stroller in a sea of them.

Thank you all so much. We are in the process of untying the string now! ;) We can now get it safely home.

2 girls on our Southwest flight home brought those balloons onto the airplane. No one in line could believe they were allowed to bring them on, or that they were allowed to bring them through security. By the time we landed, the outer balloon had popped, but the inner colored balloon had survived. I'm just glad we weren't anywhere near them when they popped!

I saw a family wrestling a stroller full of kids and balloons onto a plane in MCO last May, everyone was just staring at them in disbelief. God knows where all those balloons went once they got down to the plane.

We give ours away on the last day. :) spread the magic. My girls love to sprinkle the pixie dust.
