Get Rid of the Jungle Cruise!

I like JC. I would like to see it kept in its current form. The corny jokes set ot apart from the safari ride at AK

The Financial guys running Disney now... would pave over Jungle Cruise, stick the extra money in their pockets and make a parking lot for 10,000 strollers and call it baby land

You actually see more animals on JC than on the Safari ride at AK! Don't try to tell me they are not real. They seem real if you are 5.
We love the "kitchiness" and humor of the ride. I do always hope that the elephant will spray the boat. It hasn't gotten me yet!

Get rid of the Jungle Cruise? No way,where would the rhinos go? and the elephants? and the wild monkeys? How about the natives-would you go in and have them displaced? That not very nice.

You have to keep the classics. I feel the same as I have read in trip reports, it is special to enjoy rides with your children that you did when you were their age. I agree with someone else, get rid of the Speedway first.

Okay, i chose a tabloid-style headline but would you get rid of it? Part of me says no to getting rid of ANY of Walt's favorites. However, I think the Safari at AK now accomplishes things that Walt always wanted and he would find the JC to be outdated and unnecessary.

Well, one problem with this suggestion is MANY Guests consider Animal Kingdom a waste of time, or a half-day at best park. I don't think those Guests would appreciate losing the Jungle Cruise. In addition, Disney owns 4 something like 43 square miles. They could certainly find other space to put in a new attraction. That's how they built Indiana Jones Adventure in DisneyLand - they (unpaved paradise and) took out a parking lot

I would NEVER get rid of it, but I do think it could be updated. Maybe made a little more interactive, put in a couple of small flume style drops (nothing huge, don't want to make it a thrill ride). I do think it needs more of a cohesive story line...maybe a safari, searching for treasure, something like that.

While an interesting idea
(a) you've already got flume drops of various sizes at Pirates of the Caribbean, Splash Mountain and Kali River Rapids, and
(b) such a change would be difficult at best, given that the park is built on the equivalent of the second floor, with Utilidors on the 'first floor'.

Funny I should run across this topic. We just got back from disney and we road the jungle right after the safari and the JC seems like a toy or fake stuff and I even commented during the ride that is was a let down now that they have the real thing in the Safari. I will say that alot of folks must still enjoy it as I got a fast pass and there was no shortage of riders. Would be nice though for something not as similar to the safari ride.

I love Jungle Cruise. It is a lot of fun and it can be quite funny in a cheesy sort of way. While the Safari in AK is great, it seems to be completely different in execution than JC.
