Get rid of one?

We're going down to the World in July for 5 nights. We have the DDP, so 5 TS credits. We have a total of 6 ADRs with one of them being at CRT. I've been back and forth about which ones to pay OOP, but ugh-so expensive! I think we can manage 1 OOP meal, but which one to possibly get rid of? Some of them are requests that the other people made, so I can't get rid of them, but the rest are just wants....Here they are:

50s Prime Time (dinner)
CP (805 breakfast)
CRT (dinner-request)
Le Cellier (lunch-request)
Cape May (dinner)
WCC (dinner-request)

Any suggestion?

If I were to pay OOP, I'll pay CP since it's the cheapest being breakfast and all.
If not, I'll probably get rid of 50's Prime since that's my least favorite among your least. And I love seafood which is Cape May dinner.;)
Also, I noticed CP is 8:05 meaning before the park opening, right? It's really great to get into park before mob of people. Good photo opportunities.

In your shoes I would either change the CRT reservation to 1900 Park Fare, which will allow a Cindy visit at a cost of only 1 TS credit, or I would pay for 50's Prime Time OOP.

50's is not a "set price" meaning that you get to order exactly what you want to eat. So, maybe you get waters all around, skip dessert, and order the least expensive entree. You could even skip an entree and just do an appetizer and a dessert.

At 50's you can order Dad's Meatloaf for only $14.99. You could get a meal of Chicken Noodle Soup and S'mores. That would run you $11.28 before tax and tip.

If it was me and I was obligated to book CRT, I'd pay that one oop and use credits on everything else - not cancelling anything. (I am not a fan, but I understand the 'request' thing.)

Barring that option...

If I had to cancel one, it would be the Whispering Canyon. Of course, that is also one of your 'request' ones, so perhaps this is not an option - but of your choices, it is the one I like least (besides CRT, but we already covered that). Le Cellier I cannot speak for, since I do not bother trying to book it ever and have not eaten there in a good seven or eight years; I am sure that it must somehow be different than it was back then when we wrote it off.

I would plan to pay oop for the Crystal Palace breakfast, since it is (1) buffet so a set price and easy to budget and (2) a breakfast - and therefore cheaper than lunch or dinner.

You could also do Akerhaus which is 1 TS credit with all the princesses.

I also would cancel the Castle and book 1900 Park Faire. I know going to the castle if for the experience, but our experience and our food were both SUB-PAR.

I still am like this :confused3 when I see everyone saying the castle is a must.

I think it's a must -- once, and only once. The experience of eating in Cinderella Castle is worth the lousy food and inflated prices, especially for small children. Almost everybody feels a bit awed by the castle. Just the idea of actually going inside it for a meal is exciting! For Disney veterans like most people on these boards, Cinderella's Royal Table has definitely lost its luster. We all have read countless negative reviews of the food quality and know it's one of the worst values on property. But try to think back to the first time you went, how much you anticipated walking up the staircase to the restaurant. At that moment, it all seemed worth it.

To the original poster, I'd probably ditch Cape May Cafe. Not because it's bad -- actually, I think it's one of the better buffets on property -- but it's fairly nondescript compared to the other places you're considering. An early breakfast at Crystal Palace and dinner at 50's Prime Time Cafe come with memories that extend beyond just your meals. Cape May will likely satisfy your group, but it almost certainly won't excite them.

I already tried to switch CRT for Akershus. That was a big resounding-NO. The friend that requested that is bringing her 8 year old daughter and we're doing that for a birthday celebration. She wants to eat in the castle, and it's her one and only request (the others are for the other group that's coming)

If it was up to me, I'd get rid of Le Cellier, but noooooo. This is the last trip I'm taking with people lol.

Thats a bummer for you, if it was me I would ditch CRT, soooo not worth 2 TS credits when Akershus and 1900 parkfare are available.

If I were you and you were trying to get the best value for your money I would cancel 50's PT (food is good but not great) and pay for CRT out of pocket so that you wouldnt have to use 2 TS credits

Re-read your post, and realized that you have five credits but are booked for seven.

Cinderella's Royal Table comes in at $54.76 after tax and gratuity for adults and at $33.60 for the Disney Kids. I got these prices from All Ears as it has been many years since I added this restaurant to the "never again" list for our family.

So, unless you get rid of some table service, what is the cheapest way to manage this. Since CRT uses up two credits, the question is, can you replace two single credit restaurants for less than $54.76 per person.

With the restaurants you listed, it is possible if you choose to pay OOP for 50's and WCC, IF, and this is a big IF, people are willing to drink water, choose less expensive options, and or share.

If the diners are going to order an expensive entree, ice cream shakes, desserts, and soda, then the least expensive option is to pay CRT OOP.

Since this meal is the choice of one part of the group, why not let them go, just them, and you guys can spend the rest of the day together.

Just because you go with people, does not mean you have to eat every meal with them.

Just let all the people going know, "Hey you have five credits, and here are the places we have reservations. You can use your credits however you like, pay out of pocket where you choose, or skip a few of these table service."

I have done the group thing where everyone tries to stay together the whole time, and it leads to the kinds of headaches you are having right now.

The meal in the castle may be the "Bees Knees/Can't miss event" for part of your group, but that should not mean that everyone has to shell out more than $50 for a sub-par meal.

If I were you, other than CRT, I would keep the meal reservations and let people choose whether to join or not. With CRT, you will need to call and cancel for those in the group who are not as thrilled with having the "experience" of eating in the castle.

I would dropm WCC and pay OOP for a QS meal like WGPE or EOS or Tangerine Cafe, or even look at the menus on allears.net and find something you could be happy with that is QS..

We love the TS meals and we always splurge for a few OOP even with the DDP. I would recommend lunch at CRT, since it is a little less expensive than dinner. In fact,we are paying OOP for CRT and 50'sPT this year. For us it is a better value to pay for CRT. I know that most of our dinning options are worth more than $24 a meal, which is would be the value of using 2 TS credits on lunch at CRT. Good luck making your decisions.

I can't really change any ADRs. I've looked......and nothing for 7

I would say WCC. The BBQ there was no better than a chain restaurant. We tried it for lunch though. I heard for dinner it's fun.

Lose the crystal palace if you must give up one. But, if you pay for a meal then do a breakfast. They are the cheapest.

If it were me - I'd drop CP in a second. We are not big fans of the characters, or the food. I also think its a good idea to cancle the castle, and go to Askerhus, but if thats what the little girl wants for her b-day, then she must have it! It is her b-day after all! Paying OOP for 50s is a good idea, because like PP said, you can go cheap if you want and just get an app. which in a place like that is probably all you need. Another thing, just a thought - just because your going with a group doesn't mean you have to eat every single meal together, does it??

No, but the meals were going to be our time together. I was supposed to set up the meals, and that would be the time of day where we could get together. It's kind of a mini reunion, because my friend with the daughters-I haven't seen for a year, and our other friend we haven't seen for 4 years. Sigh-I just wish we weren't broke. Then this wouldn't matter!:headache:
