Get my own luggage or not? That is the question.

Here is a ME question for those that have flown Airtran: :confused3 We flew American last year and never dealt with our luggage til it "magically" appeared in our room later that evening. This year we're flying AirTran, a non-participating airline. Do we have to go and claim our luggage and haul it to the ME bus check-in or do they find it for you? I don't even know where luggage claim is at MCO. Would I risk it being left or lost since Airtran is not a participating carrier? What would you do?

See "What "Participating Airline" Really Means!" at http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=944813

The short answer is that for your inbound travel, you can once again have your luggage "magically" appear in our room.

"Participating" only applies to Remote Airline Check-in, not to Disney's Magical Express itself.

What would I do? I would use the yellow tags because the inbound luggage transfers are the very best part of Magical Express.

It does not matter what airline you are flying coming to Disney when you choose whether to get your own luggage at Orlando airport. The ME baggage handling is the same.

What counts is what items you need during that day. Although many people will need some items such as swimsuits, the rest of the luggage you bring all the way to the resort yourself may need to be left with the bellhop if the room is not ready.

Anyone who handles your baggage appreciates tips. The exception is the delivery of baggage from airport to room where you do not have to sit in the room waiting.
